Sonic 06 if SEGA didn't rush Sonic Team

If they did do some delays, they really could've tweaked the story to flow better, too. The "time travel at will" issue feels like it really mucks up the story since for most of the fans, they could just go back and take care of Iblis with no issue. If they at least clarified that Silver's timeline is a Future Trunks issue, in the case of how ensuring the present is saved from ruination won't automatically save his timeline, thus necessitating Blaze's sacrifice and implications of being reborn in the Sol Dimension as some believe, or that too much jumping around _could_ cause issues (seriously, Shadow and Silver's jump was a stable loop since Shadow never interacted with his past self who's still sealed away back at Prison Island, but there's a point where Sonic and Silver travel back to before the Egg Carrier crashes, and somehow they don't cause any issues or anything?), then all that would need fixing after is Sonic at least having one encounter with Mephiles, and Elise not being kidnapped by Eggman _five times_ across the story... and of course, removing the kiss scene so that people won't mislabel it as bestiality (and so people don't have to see something they'd call necrophilia on account of Elise kissing a corpse to bring him back to life as if they're Romeo and Juliet).

Really, no matter how you handle time travel there's always going to be plot holes and issues with it. I think simply fixing the pacing and such would make it a great story. Honestly, 06 isn't as bad of a game as most might remember, it has a lot of potential and could be an amazing game without changing very much at all.

Fans' argument about Elise kissing Sonic is a joke, if you think about. Technically, she Iblis' vessel, so she have similar but weaker power. She might have used that power without knowing, because she straight up falling on her knees and we can see Amy didn't make the same move. Either way, SEGA really fucked up 06

Sonic and Silver time travel *might* be a stable loop. They saw an explosion, it might have been the Egg Carrier explosion, not Iblis being released. The Egg Carrier still exploded after Sonic rescued Elise, so Elise might've always been saved in that particular instance. What screws up the narrative is that Silver goes back to the past, gets the Grey Chaos Emerald from the duke, and then takes it back to the present and then to the futuee. Unlike the Blue Emerald, the Grey Emerald has no logical explanation, and it stops existing 10 years ago. Which is just so simple to solve, just make Silver leave that emerald behind and get it "again" in the present. What also needs to be changed is Mephiles motivation, cause he has no reason to exist. Usually in time travel stories there is a base timeline before something wrecks it. Mephiles is clearly the thing that wrecks the timeline, but he also sorta of always existed. He's also weird cause can't he time travel to when Iblis is released and merge with him there? Why do he need to manipulate everyone? Maybe if he could only merge with Iblis if a Paradox happened? Would at least explain a couple of things

@ChristianWS. No matter what, Silver gets the emerald regardless of how. And Mephiles didn't merge with Iblis yet because neither were strong enough. Iblis was sealed away by Silver in the past meaning Mephiles couldn't merge with him at all and the only reason he had to manipulate people was so Elise would cry and release Iblis once more, also so that he would get Sonic and Shadow out of his way.

Appreciate that man, I'm really into creating what if's and set pieces that weren't originally meant to be. I think Super Sonic going through Kingdom Valley mach speed looks gorgeous.

Eh, I disagree. Sonic's Story mode is fine and has it's moments. Sonic escaping Eggman's crashing ship with Elise will never get boring to me personally. Especially the Sweet Sweet Dreams remix with Akon, I unironically love it.
