I think Sonic Rush holds the perfect formula,like sure you can boost or you can run until you go really fast.I like that formula because usually when you go to fast in Sonic Advance 2 is possible you don't see where you are going so if you run in front of a badnik then you lose all momentum while in Sonic Rush you can just boost through it

@@starsonicstuff upon checking out the boost mod, it looks like what I need, but I prefer the aesthetic of this as it has that after-image effect that makes it pop. Perhaps I could combine the two mods to give it the rush feel, since rush is a successor to the advance series. If I make a quality stage pack, I could have something for everyone, where you can either play with a focus on momentum or boost through it all. I think that'd be fun.

yeah, as I mentioned in the mod description this is really best used with characters that don't have their own boost or dash mode (like Metal). I could add him to the exclusion list, but I'll probably add a console command instead.

No camera addons or modifications were used. For the cinematic shots, they were recorded by the person not in the shot (or with a third character, as seen in the last shot). Anything else like the leaning effects were through video editing.

i loved this kind of boosting since it incentivizes doing better but i think it should allow a slight charge up so you can get back to jogging speed when you mess up and get stopped (at least for metal sonic)

if you mess up and get stopped, you lose the boost. don't wanna lose the boost, then you have to play well and precise. the mod is already very forgiving with a grace period that gives you time to re-gain speed. you also can heavily fall under the speed requirement and still maintain the boost.

Thanks. I'm not sure who you are, but no this is my own ReShade preset using Raytracing shaders from Pascal Gilcher. I started making it over two years ago, though it looks much different now: mb.srb2.org/threads/ray-tracing-in-sonic-robo-blast-2.29713/ It was never released on the SRB2 forum, due to it requiring a paid shader to look proper.

Nope! From what I gather, Blaze requires you to hit her max-ish speed and then you have the ability to use a modern Sonic styled boost. My mod does not have any activation keys. You run forward and it charges up over time until releasing. Its similar to the Sonic Advance 2 boost, but with more flare. The boost itself doesn't provide tremendous speed - its actually a very subtle increase. You have to combine that increase with momentum from non-stop movement, jumps, slopes, etc. to begin racking up speed. You can also trigger it by high-speed increases caused from momentum, which skips the charge up and immediately launches you off like in Green Hill Paradise Act 2. Your boost is cancelled if you lose too much speed, hit a wall, or stop so the better you are going fast without interruption - the longer you get to stay boosting.

Yup, universal. Works with modded characters and whatnot. The only exception is characters that have their own boost ability have been disabled. Though this can be easily changed if needed.

metal sonic's dash mode is a constant increase in speed and doesn't feel very good. this is a flat percentage you get for interrupted speed. they behave very differently
