Sonic Adventure 2 Used to Be Awesome

My favorite game in the world at one point was Sonic Adventure 2. Sonic was so cool, Shadow was cool, Eggman was a menace, Amy was useless, and Knuckles was the king of rap music.

The way the stages are structured in the hero and dark stories is actually more well-balanced than it might seem. There are 16 stages in the hero story, with there being 6 speed stages, and 5 treasure hunting and mech stages respectively. In the dark story, there's only 14 stages, with there being 5 treasure hunting and mech stages again, but only 4 speed stages this time.

Yeah Shadow is the "Ultimate Lifeform" in the game, and even calls himself such.

The Tails mech speed thing is a problem with both the Gamecube version and the HD version. It's a problem with how they ported the analog control. People have found a fix for it in the 2012 HD edition, and I'm surprised you don't even play that version. It's literally a port OF Battle, just if you don't buy the multiplayer DLC, all Battle branding is removed. Also the PC version has mods to make the game better and fix that Tails mech speed issue. Also, the reason that Dark Story is mostly mech stages is that Shadow and Rouge weren't planned to be playable, that's also why their levels reuse a lot of assets.

i don't like sa2 that much, was more of a fan of sa1 and sonic 3 and knuckles but i kinda feel like your ass just did not pay attention to the story LOL
