I love how exploitable it is. If you're fighting an enemy that hits you way off the ground, you can ground pound to stop the animation

I wish the Knight used its sword more, it felt as if it used the shield more as a means of attack. In the second phase, it doesn’t try to attack you with it as the shield is flying around.

Right now I’m trying to fully complete the game, and you don’t really realize just how many memory tokens there are until you find yourself systematically getting every single freakin one. And yet, it’s still pretty fun. The emerald snatchers can burn in hell though.

When I played this, I didn’t realize that you could just get the chaos emeralds without it telling you too, so I literally did EVERY SINGLE find memory tokens missions. I also spent way too long on Kronos island because of that…

Honestly, people comparing the koco to the chao is pretty accurate. If I remember correctly, chaos used to be a chao himself, and the koco are essentially the cores of the ancients. So they do have SOME connection

Yeah. Chaos is a chao that mutated and activated his dormant dna. Causing him to become the water monster we know and love. He doesn't have a koco as his core but he was awakened by the radiation of the emeralds. And collecting them makes him stronger. So he isn’t a true ancient. He simply gets his form and power from the chaos emeralds as they created him. He is the true guardian of the master emerald. He lives within it. So Knuckles can take breaks from protecting the emerald every now and then. But not too long unless we want chaos to get angry again. He's pacified. But he isn't going to stand around and do nothing if someone threatens his... basically home. Knuckles being a protector probably helps calm chaos. Chaos probably feels at ease knowing that someone as dedicated to protecting the emerald as Knuckles is protecting it. So when Knuckles comes back to protect the master emerald. Chaos probably lets out a gigantic sigh of relief. Because the protector is back and he is strong. Chaos has an obvious weak point. But Knuckles is way stronger. He can punch hard.

One thing you gotta appreciate is they don't make any of the side characters seem inferior to Sonic, like previous games. They all have their own identity and goals. It feels more like saving them off circumstances, rather than them ACTUALLY needing to be saved.

The way getting hit in sonic frontiers works is that if you're high enough when you get hit, you can air dash out of hitstun and not take any damage. Or on the over world, just recovery smash

Honestly, the bigger issue, imo, was never with the games being utterly bad. Shadow the Hedgehog was a bleh Sonic game, but a survivable one. It’s just that, after losing a home console, and then Sonic 06, Sonic Team just didn’t have any self confidence anymore. Hopefully, though, that will change soon

If someone doesn’t like Sonic Frontiers’ Gameplay, they have to love the story. While it does lean to heavily on “I can’t explain now only time will tell” it does it perfectly. The character arcs and voice acting are the best this series had in a long time. I’m not a Roger Craig Smith Sonic fan (Jason Griffith is my boy) but Roger does a great job here. I love how the characters realize they have to go their separate ways for a bit to grow. It’s very cool actually.

I assumed Sonic was able to get out because his experiences allow him to run clearer simulations of his memories, letting him process cyberspace easier. I think. Fun fact: Ian Flynn, writer (fixer upper) of the archie and current idw wrote this story! He definitely help fix the characters with what restrictions Sega has over the IP. Since stories have to fit with the gameplay/design/layout, its surpising for what we got.

People gripe about the somber island music in Frontires how "It's not Socic music because it's not a fast pace," but with the mysterious islands, mechanical foes such as the Titans and Guardians, and Sage, the mysterious glitch girl who keeps on getting in Sonics way of saving his friends from the state there in, being halfway in cyberspace and not at the same time, the music fits the bill for the islands, just saying... Also the fact she is keeping information until near the end when she officially sides with you, giving info of her own existence, being originally from Eggman's creation given a upgrade thanks to the Ancient's technology, AND she becomes more "human", having emotions and even crying actual tears, while still retaining her powers as being a literal glitchy girl, THERE'S A REASON SAGE IS NOW MY FAVORITE SONIC CHARACTER UNTIL THE END OF TIME!!!!!!!!!!!!

Knuckles was protecting the master emerald before he got here. But you wanna tell me that you'd be fine with mysterious ruins appearing close to your prized possessions? Knuckles was checking out the ruins that appeared on angel Island because he doesn't know what's inside. He was checking them out to make sure nothing inside could endanger the master emerald.
