As someone who played this game as a kid, I can confirm this game had some BIG glitches sometimes. A lot of the stuff that happened to Arin happened to me too. The Egg Emperor is one of the childhood traumas of my youth.

Great compilation! You can hear Arin’s blood pressure rise as he plays this. I was never a Sonic fan as a kid and never played any of the games so its a lot of fun seeing the Grumps play through them so I don’t have to. Unlike some of the others, Sonic Heroes actually looks like it *could* be a lot of fun if it wasn’t so dang glitchy! There’s some cool level and enemy designs but wow, the way the controls are it looks utterly painful to play.

I'm not going to blame arin 100 percent for most of the deaths because you can clearly see some of them happen completely by glitches. I think he probably would have an easy time if he'd played team sonic with the GameCube version first which was the one I managed to beat as a kid.

Sonic Heroes on Gamecube, as someone who beat the whole fucking thing one summer (except for Metal Sonic because trying to get the Chaos Emeralds is nonsense - why was that the way you unlock the true final boss?), was still awful. The controls are imprecise, the level design is sloppy, buggy or not it's just a tremendously unfun experience.

@@LaymoSupraymo Well, I can say mine didn't go like that, and that means the same thing. But there are so many moments where Arin's screwups are caused by him just not knowing what he's doing. Him never understanding how the cannons work even though it teaches you level 1, constantly failing the rising chemical part because he doesn't notice the game clearly telling him to destroy the enemies, getting immediately spotted during the Team Chaotix stealth missions because he didn't read the objective, dying on the bobsled part in Team Dark's Bullet Station because he ran over three tripwires in a row and then assuming the game glitched, Spending an entire episode trying to kill a gold turtle in Team Dark's Frog Forest when he had already done it with no problem earlier. So many deaths caused by button mashing that he just claims are "the game sending you flying" like forgetting to jump before doing the tornado move.
