When you get an A record You unlock Super Hard. A even harder mode than Team Dark but with no continues It Team Sonic only, if you gameover you go back to the beginning Seaside Hill there no bosses no stage select. On completion I think you get a final thank you for playing. Honestly when you’re revisiting the game every few years or so super hard is a blast it is the go to game mode for now on

this video turned up in my recommended out of nowhere, and kept my interest the whole way through, so good job 👏 as a kid, i played the game with team rose because i couldn't beat the other teams' levels - for a game that's aimed at kids it's actually pretty difficult? i'm glad team rose is a thing for that reason alone that being said, i wonder who looked at the team chaotix mode while designing the shadow the hedgehog game and thought "this is what we need more of" 💀

You know the tutorial is actually in option in the menu but yet team rose still forces you to play the tutorial Oh in there “? Markers” all over the game so you know most of us would figure it out quickly

I'll try to concise all my thought in as small of a comment as I can. Some of the game's levels suck (casino level, frog level) but they rest are all for the most part pretty amazing in concept and how expansive and rich they all feel. Major problem stems from the gameplay, length and level design. As everyone has pointed out in the past, everything about the special stages sucks, the controls are slippery and a lot of the mechanics don't work optimally (most of all the Light Speed Dash). Seen people bash the team member switching mechanic as well but I think that's BS, it works perfectly once you learn how it works and the flow of the game becomes much more dynamic. Level design is meh, turbo repetitive, especially if you're playing all 4 campaigns. And the length, well, I usually don't take issue with long levels but Heroes usually has nothing to show for it, sometimes they're just long for the sake of long. Story is a bit of a tonal mess, the script is dog💩, the voice acting even more so (couldn't be more glad they all got the boot after Sonic Advance 3) and the pacing in all of them except Team Dark's story ain't good. That being said the core concept is phenomenal, so is the Last Story. The Egg Fleet and Metal Overlord are 2 of the coolest things we've ever seen from Sonic and they all stem from this game. The resurrection of Shadow was the best decision they've ever made and his memory loss here blazes the path for Shadow 2005 and Sonic 06, two of the most ambiguous and interesting narratives we've ever gotten in this franchise. Team Rose's story is pathetic, Team Sonic's simplistic to the point of boredom but not necessarily bad and Team Chaotix's story while charming is almost just as bad bad as Team Rose's. Lastly, the 4 different campaigns in terms of design. TERRIBLE. This is the only Adventure Era game that's not worth playing through all of the campaigns but instead play one and watching the rest of the cutscenes on KZbin. Team Rose = Game on easy, Team Sonic = Game on normal, Team Dark = game on hard and Team Chaotix = Game on Nightmare Gimmick mode. That's what it felt like. The first 3 campaigns felt like complete copy pastes with different enemy placements and the Chaotix campaign felt like a boring and badly designed scavenger hunt. This game is not worth going over 100%. Rapid positives: Soundtrack, visuals, sound design, multiplayer, set pieces Rapid negatives: Lack of polish pretty much I appreciate what Heroes tried to do, I really do, I get what it was going for but DAMN does it miss the mark on some accounts. In my opinion, Sonic Heroes is a 6/10.

this is actually the same reason why i don't like shadow the hedgehog i don't wanna have to play through the game *TEN* times just to get the real ending i put that game down after my second playthrough after i realized what i had to do

I played Sonic advance 2 and 3 then got sonic heroes. In fact I only played sonic adventure one and two almost 4 or 5 years ago now Like it’s one of the last things I bought on PS3 before getting a PS4. I don’t know if it’s purely nostalgic but I would actually rather play sonic heroes over Sonic Adventure 2. I remember how painful team chaotic‘s hermit crabs or key finding is. And I would rather take that over playing knuckles stages or Eggman stages in sonic adventure 2. I noticed we all acknowledge sonic adventure 2 as one of the best but yet collectively hate about 80% of the game. If you enjoy sonic and shadow but hate everyone else’s gameplay you’re still hating the majority of the game

Bro I JUST woke up from a nap where I had a dream that each character in Heroes had a unique act like Superstars and Knuckles got his own boss that you had to roll into to damage and the game was way more story heavy and actually followed up stuff established in SA2 and now Heroes is even more disappointing to me >:(

Oh also I just realized Team Chaotix' gameplay is supposed to be like the treasure hunting in the first two Adventure games. It's just that there's no radar and they retrofitted these linear stages and filled them with collectathon crap that isn't even fun to figure out how to get there's just a lot of them and God I hate this game and I wish I could love it.
