Is anyone else very skeptical of how Shadow's backstory's gonna be handled. From what we've heard, things sound fine but I will never stop being concerned. I don't think even the insinuation of a 12 year old girl being unalived by a firearm is gonna make it that far for a movie made for general audiences.

The similarity of Knuckles' powers to Sonic's makes me wonder if there's some rule in this Universe where if you're the last of your kind, you just get some kind of power based on your race's natural strengths. Although, like Hezu, I may be overthinking it a great deal.

I love seeing shadow is going to be there for sonic 3 BUT it's atleast expected that Amy or rouge or even both will tag along, like having Amy in a sonic 3 movie would be amazing and rouge (who will mostly likely get some *minor* design changes for her to be in theaters) would be amazing and maybe we could get omega there as well and we can team dark which would be cool

The similarities between the trio's powers might be something similar to the power core concept from Sonic Heroes. Speed/Power/Flight, with team Sonic getting specific boosts in their respective type naturally. Not sure about this since Shadow's getting red eyes/lightning. Don't really expect them to dive into this concept since, probably an Emerald hunt coming up next vs power cores.

Knuckles being able to casually reassemble the master emerald is pretty normal for him in the games. As for the lighting effect that some of the characters have, it's implied to be chaos power.

Honestly, my favorite movie-exclusive addition to the Sonic universe is Longclaw and the backstory with the echidnas. They bring so much depth to a series where the past of most characters is left unknown. I still can't believe Sega allowed the movie directors to give Sonic a backstory and an actual parental figure, considering how they butchered the Sonic Boom games by prohibiting any creativity on the characters' origins, and also their disdain towards the archie comics for similar reasons.

@100lovenana Movie Sonic is not close at all to how Game Sonic is characterized beyond the bare necessities. Game Sonic would not lecture Knuckles on responsibility (it's even canon he fights Eggman for his amusement and welcomes fighting him again and again) or insist on living in a small town rather than be without a home going whereever he pleases. With that the case, it addresses how he has a couple of parents or stand ins for them since he's written as a superhero (namely from the MCU and DCEU) with shades of E.T. hence having Longclaw as his Uncle Ben or Jor-El and the Wachowskis as his Kent's and/or Alfred.

I hope we see the Babylon Rogues and get an explanation behind their glowing powers in the *fourth* movie; not the third. Maybe they start to get curious in the third when they see Shadow glowing, and hopefully, we see Jet in the end credits scene.

I would love it if Shadow works as a true dark reflection of Sonic in movie 3, having lost his family in the past compared to Sonic finding a new family over the past 2 movies. And getting flashbacks of Shadow and Maria living as siblings on the Arc would be so cute, and heartbreaking. 🥺

I wouldn’t say the bounty hunters were completely unnecessary, they did help kick of the movie by tracking Sonic’s quill to egg man and putting knuckles and egg man together

If this sonic cinematic universe takes off as planned, I would like to see a prequel entitled, "Knuckles Chaotix" where Knuckles meets Team Chaotix while he is still searching for sonic. Could also include more lore to explain more about the "star wars cosplayers". Would be different from the game, as the game involves Robotnik

So around 21:20 you stated your confusion with the emeralds and master emerald being one. In the Sonic 2 commentary (at least on dvd releases) it was stated by the director that this was Sega's idea to do this. They are aware that the master emerald is alot bigger then what's shown but felt hauling something that huge would have been difficult for the characters to interact with. Thus they did this. I just wanted to point it out for those wondering why it even became a thing in the first place

It's funny because in Sonic X they kept the Master Emerald's size the same as in the games, so Knuckles has to carry that HUGE rock over his head like it weighs nothing, it makes me laugh everytime I see him walk with it.

I loved Sonic 1 and Sonic 2 is great even though it definetly a kids movie. However there are some places where the keyframing is on par with something out of a 2002 movie. Also the Shadow reveal made me laugh and go: well deviantart is about to lose its shit

This movie was so freaking good. Knuckles was definitely the highlight and I'm glad that finally writers understand his comedy comes from his limited social awareness rather than his lack of braincells. Also, my heart shattered when Eggman betrays Knuckles and he's just like "you were my friend". Idris in general did amazing but I have to commend for capturing the sheer essence of confusion and sadness.

I'm curious on how the Shadow backstory will play out. I grew up on Sonic X and in that series, Shadow came around season 3. If we go that route, if it plays out similar to season 3, then I could see this task force going and continuing to go after Sonic and you don't even need Eggman for it. (I will say that there were multiple times in the series where the people were like, "Yeah, Eggman's dead. Like, DEAD dead." Then, the next season, he's very much alive, just in hiding, plotting his next move. So he could still come back.) In the series, Eggman has Shadow go around causing mischief and because he looks so much like Sonic, Sonic is the one who ends up blamed for his crimes and imprisoned for them. I think that would be an interesting play for the third movie. One thing I think that would be interesting for them to play with are a few possible concepts and theories that never made it to the Sonic X series or were never explained. The two I'm thinking of come from the same concept brought up multiple times in season 3 of Sonic X. In the season, it's brought up that when Maria released "the creature" down to earth, two pods came down from the lab. One was the perfected creature and the other was the prototype. One theory I've had for years is that where Shadow was one, I believe Sonic was the other. The fact that they look very much the same, they have similar powers, etc., it's very much plausible. However, the other theory is one I heard a long while ago about how the creators apparently had a third hedgehog in mind to bring in to the series, but that never came to fruition if that was planned at all. If we got that extra information into Sonic's backstory, I'll be very interested. I swear though, if Sonic's backstory ends up being that of Sonic Underground . . . I don't know what I'll think about the movies, if that would even work.

Your theories are really interesting!! Just a little correction, the SA2 arc officially happens in season 2 of Sonic X, not 3, but I understand the confusion, the anime is divided oddly. Also, the thing about two pods being sent to Earth is also in the SA2 game, not just from Sonic X. And I agree, this time they have to give an explanation for why Sonic and Shadow look so similar. And if it's just because they're both hedgehogs, then at least explain why a creature made by HUMANS looks like a species from Sonic's planet.

It was confirmed by Pat Casey who’s one of the writers of the movies said that the pre-quil comic is not canon, more specially the knuckles segment because it ruins the point of the bird Warriors being mysterious or something even though we really still don’t know much about them They COULD show up in the Knuckles Spin-off on Paramount+ but I’m doubting it for now (also heads up that the shows ties into movie 3) And one more thing it was found out while ago what they meant what from Jim Carey said, he’s only taking a break he’s not retiring entirely, so he could come back but till then if the script is amazingly good then he’ll likely return (he’s also apparently pushing for fat Eggman in movie 3 which would be amazing)

I'm thinking considering we never saw what really happened Longclaw or Knuckles dad that perhaps something else happened. That perhaps while the echidna tribe may have abused the power of the emerald, it was mostly a misunderstanding and that they may have tragically lost their lives in stopping maybe the Chaos water elemental? Also you gotta check out some of the fan stuff people are hoping for Movie Amy & how she could be included. One person had the clever idea of classic Amy from SonicCD during a flashback before Sonic came to Earth, then Modern Amy for current version & like she's like mad that her hero/crush doesn't remember saving her as kids. I'm thinking Amy joins up, Stone makes Metal Sonic to avenge Eggman, three way fight with Shadow and then Chaos as the final boss.

I love the sonic movie 2 so much, it’s so much fun, love the story, characters, battles and animation and music was super cool (tho I do wish they use actual game music) The cgi was pretty good. I had no idea about the prequel Idk comics… also the amount of references that are in this movie is insane. I had a big stupid smile on my face while watching the whole thing. I just love it so much. Definitely the best video game movie of all time! This actually felt like a true Sonic movie I love how well they stay true to the games and the references. Super Sonic wasn't really a surprise because to be fair I honestly knew he would turn super but Shadow WAS a surprise and it's hyping me up! For the third movie I think it'll be very good maybe better but I agree with you on hoping the movie isn't just Shadow beaten up Sonic throughout the film. I also hope Shadow only attacks for his own reasons and not tricked by Eggman because then it would feel like the same movie I also love Ciiphers reaction to seeing Shadow, Best reaction yet 🤩!!! I just hope they don't mess up Shadow's character in the next movie hopefully they stay true to adventure 2 when he turns good and helps Sonic.

Time to Juice. I knew from the trailer that the wedding would be fake...Its more realistic to be fake as I didn't buy it for a second. The second coming of Sonic made me emotional at the end...movies rarely do that to me...Instant Classic. Praying for Blaze, Metal Sonic, Amy, Sally, Chaos, Rouge, Scratch and Grounder (fufufu), and Crush 40 in the future. I watched the movie with my dog Tails😌😆
