I don't think it occured to them that there might be a glitch that lets the player go through walls, it'd be a huge waste of time to spend time putting a second invisible wall next to every wall to prevent a glitch that they didn't know existed. In wi2n's case there IS an invisible wall, but you can get over it using ledges that seem like they pretty clearly weren't intended to be used.
