Yeah, not all celebrities are bad at voice acting, and even a lot of the ones that are could possibly improve it. The real problems are that a) the decision tends to be made while also screwing over generally underpaid voice actors, b) the companies using them tend not to care about quality of the performancr or lack thereof, and c) so many people think voice acting is piss easy and thus think anyone can do it well, including the aforementioned companies.

Nothing wrong with celebrity casting since some actors can be great voice actors, but Megan clearly wasn't upto the task. They could have just used Cristina Vee since she was already doing the grunts or gotten Megan a VA trainer.

People shit on Christ Pratt for the memes, but his only crime is that all his voices are the same (still don't understand people giving him hell for the Mario Movie when Seth Rogan was right fucking there), Chris at least knows how to fluctuate his voice and put in the right emotions at the right moments. I do like Ashrah’s design in MK1, it’s smart to make her look angelic to contrast the idea of what she actually is, plus she’s probably got the best design so far of the female kombatants. My criticism though is that while the outfits technically are all different from each other, something about all the female kombatants makes their outfits seem too same-y. Everything looks like it’s cut from the same cloth, or formatted the same way without any real unique accessories or garnishes to their outfits. The Midway outfits look WAY more unique. (Also damn I owe Ronda a HUGE fucking apology. She at least sounded like she was trying.)

Okay can't lie. I see how there would be doubt that Ahsrah's journey will be similar to the Midway timeline, despite the battle dialogue. If all of Vaeternus is just choosing to be vampires, CHOOSING to slaughter other beings for the selfish reasoning of immortality...yeah it wouldn't matter if Ahsrah misunderstands her blade or not. She'd be justified to protect innocents from these vampires. She mostly talks about Netherrealm in this too, so maybe they're gonna just focus on that in the next game. Which has more of a personal connection with her admittedly, but is less nuanced. Not that I think Midway did it for that, I think they did Datusha like that to give her an endless goal because it's a fighting game series. But intent doesn't matter when it ultimately gives her story more depth.

Actually Karen Stressman was Khameleon here in mk1 but its an archive voice clip. Because karen Actually against nrs, mk and ed boon for not paying enough. She was fired whenshe post a complain on her deleted twitter post and called out ed boon and the crew including protesting and going on strike. but she spread hate on nrs and ed boon after mkx was finished. She refuses to return as mileena and kitana but she did left some fight grunts to voiced khameleon but she is being uncredited.

Cristina did her fight grunts and bat screeches and not fox because she is lazy to scream or did not want her voiced cracked as an excused. Because she is a diva and an awful person/actress who do not know who to read or voiced properly. The only good ones are john cena, keith david, mark hamill, daniel dae kim, idris elba, jack black, rebecca romijn, kelly hu and ryan Reynolds etc. Ed boon is Cheapie the cheapskate. He refuses to credit cris vee as nitara nor never want her to cast as nitara. Megan fox should have just been the premium skin and nitara should revant her face likeness model to cris vee's face and voiced by cristina vee herself and rerecord lines for the story mode.

I liked the part where Ash Ketchum said “I must absolve with the elder gods” and absolved all over Quan Chi and Ermac. Truly the NRS chapter ever Edit: I never knew about the Ashrah / Nitara rivalry in the midway era; that’s a pretty cool mini story. I think one way to bring this conflict back (if Ed Boon decides to bring them back in MK13) would be that there was more Titan Shang Tsung mischief that happened off screen in MK1, the evil kriss was brought by him (like Shinnok’s amulet in chapter 12), and Ashrah goes berserk at some point in the story, and Nitara turns good and gets a chapter to try and stop her Idk. This was the best I could think of. If any of you know a better way to add this rivalry to the timeline, you can let me know

I have a headcanon why Syzoth is just stay still and didn/ stop Quan Chi: Syzoth was too busy staring at Ashrah fighting Nitara, and decide to help her as Kameo Fighter because he wants to be next with her. Syzoth actually knows that Quan Chi was about to create his old friend Ermac. So he let Quan Chi bring back his old friend just to see his ugly face and get ragdolled

It’ll be a shame if they don’t continue Nitarah’s and Ashrah’s storyline because of how they retconned vampires and went for Celebrity voice acting. For me personally though, there is another 3D era character that I do not like with what they did.

I think its more of a case that the Vaeternians' ancestors as I believe Nitara's bio said, were the ones to choose it, but the ones born after were basically the ones given without a choice, so it is still tragic as every Vaeternian born thereafter is basically cursed to live in that state of existence without any way to realistically reverse it.

Rain said it best: Vampires are immortal AND they can procreate. Nitara can easily have been born after the early Vaternians made the choice to convert to vampirism. Those ancestors’ decisions could have cemented the fate of their children before they were even conceived. That could be a decent way to steer Nitara back on track, especially since it wouldn’t be the first time the way a race works was misunderstood. Remember the Tarkatans? That’s apparently a disease, and I can’t imagine Liu Kang making the conscious choice to retcon it that way. It must have been the whole time, but not one Outworlder, not even Onaga, took notice.
