She IMMEDIATELY rifled the pockets of the dying commander for the launch key, which the commander gave to Sonic and told him "You're the only one I trust with this". I think they've set a couple avenues to explain Metal Sonic if Carrey doesn't return.

I mean they made all those robots that came out of the Eclipse Cannon, so it isn't too far fetched that they could have made them. I mean, I can understand why they would cut this as it doesn't fit with the sa2 plot that the movie is based on. It would feel a bit weird with the plot basically following the events of Sonic Adventure 2 up until the destruction of the earth and then random time travel segment. Also in the movie The Only Reason Eggman cut the moon in half was because they had to redirect the laser from Earth to the Moon, so that means if they had hit the earth Eggman would not have pissed on the moon.

I wish this movie got at least 15-30 more minutes. I wished the same for Sonic 1 and 2. Seriously, time constraints are the main thing holding these movies back. I'm not saying these movies need to be Endgame or LOTR long, but they've proven how much they can pack in 20 minutes alone without making it feel like that short of a time span. They should take advantage of that skill.

I was a bit disappointed when I heard this movie would have shorter run time than 2, which I think was the best paced out of the trilogy (although this is obvious due to it being the longest) I think the problem is because its target demo is younger audience, with increasingly shorter attention spans due to the rise of shortform content. The idea the creators have behind the pacing is to make it blazing fast, similar to Mario movie as well. Hope they can find a way to increase run time in future installments

And those are all around two hours long. And she has sat through the first six Star Wars movies and those are longer than two hours. It depends on the kid, I suppose. My kid has largely avoided brain rot content.

So a miniature scale is often used in film production to determine the exact dimensions of a set, if it works and how to build it, it is a cost effective way of creating a set before actually building it for real (saves budget waste) so the chao garden was probably made because of the amount of props, actors and camera angles used, it was a busy but confined set and needed to be made with as little changes possible

We will never see the sonic movies get as gloomy and melancholic as the games can get because it’s a movie franchise aimed at children and specifically designed for children. I'd speculate that Sonic Movie 4 is going to be a mixed adaptation between Sonic CD and Sonic Heroes. Sonic Movie 2 was a mixed adaptation between Sonic 2, Sonic 3, and Sonic Adventure and then Sonic Movie 3 was primarily adapting SA2, so it makes sense that for the next entry they'd mix it up a bit between the main new characters introduction game (CD) and the next major game in the timeline which also happened to feature Metal Sonic as the main antagonist (Heroes). With this idea in mind, I'd imagine that the story will primarily draw inspiration from CD, but also include elements from Heroes to round it out into a similar sort of experience. We've got the Amy and Metal reveal, but it's possible we could also get Cream, Big, Rouge, and Omega. This would allow for three of the four teams in Heroes to become fully formed; Team Sonic, Team Dark, and Team Rose. They might also do something with the Chaotix and mix their game into the mix, but we'll have to wait and see. Then if they ever get around to Sonic Movie 5, it would make sense to move on to the Shadow 05 adaptation and introduce Black Doom as the primary antagonist. In this version I'd imagine that Sonic would still be the main protagonist instead of shifting over to Shadow, but he'd be a big central focus again and might start remembering things from before he crashed down on Earth. Perhaps he was sent to Earth to carry out some sort of mission, and he ends up needing to choose whether to maintain his alliance with the others or side with Doom to invade the Earth? They could also mix this up together with their Sonic 06 and Sonic Rivals adaptation to include Silver into the plot, perhaps to warn the others about Doom. In this adaptation perhaps instead of going after Sonic, he's got it out for Shadow for choosing to side with Doom in his history's version of events. Mephiles could also make an appearance as like Shadow's brother or something, and could be working for Doom instead of having connections to Solaris. I don't really expect most of this to be accurate but it's just a bunch of stuff that makes sense to me.

What’s interesting is that basically have a blank slate considering CD is a 16 bit game with no dialogue, so they can do a lot with the story and it won’t be held to this standard we had for Movie 3 was because it was mostly an SA2 adaptation. Heroes will be cool to adapt elements from as well since that was probably metals biggest shine in the series, as well as potential for other characters like you mentioned. I’m excited about what future can hold for the series

They're probably not going to have Amy get kidnapped this time around considering the butt kicking she was doing in the end credits scene, so if they're going to do anything with that plot point they might use Cream, Cheese, or Froggy instead.

Something I’ve always kind of liked about Metal Sonic is how they’ve pretty much never really changed his design since the Sonic OVA (Not counting Neo Metal Sonic) Even in Sonic Boom they kept his original design. The only time they’ve ever changed his appearance was with Chaos Sonic in Sonic Prime who was technically a different character and in Sonic Generations where they gave him a classic style appearance. That being said that arm cannon that Metal Sonic has in the after credits scene is new (Although I could be wrong)

The arm cannon is likey based on Metal Sonic 3.0 from the Archie comics. Which is interesting because 3.0 eventually went rogue and because a hero under the name Shard. He even had a friendship with Nicole before he got retconned out of existence thanks to the Pender lawsuit. He wasn't actually designed by Ken, but the Power Gem he runs off was.

Here's my opinion on the Super Sonic vs Super Shadow fight concept art was, after they were the only survivors due to being in their super form Shadow realizing what he'd done. This would set up bot CD and Silver, as after this happened Sonic and Shadow would sit in the remains of the earth giving up hope before Silver would appear a time stone in his hand attacking the two as he believed them to be the reason for his ruined future, after Sonic and Shadow would try and fight him as a duo Silver would hold them both in the air with his psychokinesis telling them that the time stone's would be the way to fix everything IE the time travel element. (Silver would have all the time stones along with his backstory) After all this upon time traveling Silver would go with them keeping the time stones just in case something goes wrong. The final fight would basically be the exact same but with Silver there using his psychokinesis to help the two Super hedgehogs. The end scene would be the same maybe Silver in the back cheering them on since he wasn't with the two hedgehogs when they both went Super so he couldn't do much. Once Sonic would start falling down to earth instead of Tails completely failing at using the warp ring falling with Sonic before Knuckles saved the day Silver would catch them with his psychokinesis slowing them down but them already falling at maximum velocity would pull him down with them keeping Tails completely conscious but dropped the ring still before Knuckles would save them. Everything else would stay the same + 1 Silver. Bonus thing for how Sonic 4's CD adaptation with the time travel would happen, during the fall to earth the time stones would become loose falling off of Silver floating in space all of them getting caught by the death eggs explosion but only the aftershock sending them back down to earth. Silver would be forced to stay until they have all the time stones back.

I like that she’s feminine…I hope they don’t make her a girlboss. Would love to have Metallic Madness Bad Future Japanese version show up in the film, in a bleak future version of the world in which a Robotnik voice over loudspeakers is blaring out “D-d-dead or alive…Sonic is mine”. And it goes without saying Metal Sonic would need to be terrifying and unstoppable, at least for part of the film. Having Amy Rose get kidnapped could be a great plot point- she can be tough but still have a damsel in distress moment.

I believe that part of the plot of the next movie will be Amy having some connection to Longclaw because we need to return to alien worlds if she's gonna be brought up like a ghost. We may even see Cream since we now have the introduction of Chao Garden for Cheese and/or Chocola Chao. Tails and Knuckles will take a backseat or have a supporting role, which will take place far away from Sonic until the final battle. At that point, we'll see Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, and Amy in an epic stance. I also like the idea of Tails getting the Knuckles treatment with a spinoff.

I think they saved time travel for Silver, jeff fowler has a silver and cyan color chao behind him in a video with stage 4 behind him... at 10:58 i think this could switched to silver, 200 years in the future with the decay of the building/lab and skeleton. If they decide to retcon silver as shadow son based of shadow quill used to create silver. end credits--spoilers --- Shadow might been sent to silver timeline. the sky is orange/red hue similar to iblis destroying world with fire. Silver has never been stated as Shadow's son, and the creator of Shadow himself confirmed he wasn't. I'd rule out Silver being Shadow's son, because a lot of the fans wouldn't like that. But then again, nobody on the main cast seems to know who Silver is :(

The only problem I had with the movie was the chao garden. They made it into a Japanese Chuck E. Cheese for comedy instead of the beautiful magical place it is in the source material. They should have made it a secret ancient place on earth for Sonic to find like when he found the compass in an ancient shrine in Siberia or the ancient temple of the master emerald in Arizona which would’ve given earth more ancient connections to aliens. This will hurt Cream and Cheese’s characters if they ever get added to the movies. The next movie needs to have Sonic and the gang go to an another planet. I was hoping for the movie to be darker and have gun be evil government punks who chase after Sonic and his family like they did in the first two movies but they increase their efforts after using satellites to see Sonic use the master emerald to beat eggman. Gun would have been power hungry villains and the movie ends with Sonic and his family being forced off earth to another planet where they start new happy lives with aliens that look human and aliens that look like animals

FUN FACT: The old fleetway UK sonic the comic had a story line with an army of metal sonics called the metaltix lurking in the special stages zone with a hivemind emperor, (Which they could easily write neo metal sonic from heroes in to the role of) Theres alot they could write into it, like flickys from 3d flickys island, opening the special stage rings to get to neo metal sonic.

So I actually have a theory on where Sonic 4 is going: It's going to be an amalgamation of the stories of Sonic CD, SA1 and Sonic Heros, with Sonic Adventure 1 being what it's mainly based on. Hear me out: Eggman made Metal Sonic and has him and an army of copies keeping team sonic busy while he(or Neo Metal voiced by Jaleel White if they can't get Jim Carry back) gathers chaos emeralds(or some equivalent) to feed and empower Chaos, leading to the iconic ending of SA1 where a fully charged Chaos goes full Kaiju and wrecks a city, killing countless people. They *COULD* introduce Gamma and Big the cat to complete the SA1 playable character roster but cutting them wouldn't be the end of the world. Meanwhile or before hand we get ether Knuckles Season 2 or the Shadow & Knuckles series they have hinted at wanting to do that introduces Rouge the bat voice by Julia Roberts(continuing the trend of foreshadowing future VAs for sonic characters like they did with Keanu/Shadow since knuckles is seen watching "Pretty Woman"). Make the big bad Bio-Lizard making and/or creating artificial or new Chaos Emeralds to power it instead of shadow now that they are known of following Sonic 3 and explaining their existence in Sonic 4. The season/series ending with Shadow heading out to space to confront the Black Arms, setting up Sonic 5 and explaining his absence in Sonic 4. As for Sonic 6, a full on blowout combo of Sonic Heros and Sonic Frontiers.

Let’s just say that Eggman was living like a god when he got his hands on the Master Emerald and him dancing and singing and even playing a piano and his own voice with a floating keyboard keys was not just for show. I mean, from the beginning he had a lot of tech that he used against the military to take controls of the narrative of Sonic the Hedgehog, but failed to do so by being sent to the Shadow Rea- I mean, a warp ring. In Sonic 2, he came back and his associates was preparing a lot more than Eggman’s favorite goat milk coffee. He has tech inside the coffee shop. So, Agent Stone’s very close relationship with Eggman was, also, not for show. 2 geniuses, one that is more human and the other more maniacal, had many back up plans before and after his reappearance to Green Hills, but once he got his hands on the Master Emerald, he wasn’t lying when he said “he feels nothing but everything”. His wish came alive. Sonic 3 showed that he has technology that can move very far from its bases. Eggman’s and Gerald’s bases as he was controlling the robots without Eggman’s knowledge. And of course, like Eggman, Gerald Robotnik had a lot of plans with Sonic and with Eggman before Gerald took the shiny quill up where the sun doesn’t shine. Metal Sonic was a collaboration of Eggman’s, Agent Stone’s and Gerald Robotnik’s work. But sadly, “double the villain, double the fun” did not really include Agent Stone. Poor guy had Eggman his mind the whole time and took a heart break to Eggman’s “sacrifice”. Shadow was still in Super Form, so he had to make Eggman “One Wish” right before the explosion. (Literally how Shadow enter the scene in SA2)

I think if they went through with the eclipse cannon hitting the earth it would’ve set up Dark Gaia as the next big world-ending threat, therefore avoiding the need for Solaris if they wanted to dodge 06 lore but still do a big time travel story. But I’m ultimately glad they stayed true to SA2 and didn’t convolute it with any outside lore, now they can explore whatever other lore they want with a completely clean slate. Now they have the opportunity to explore 06 or Unleashed at a later time, which I think is for the best because stuffing it all into Movie 3 would’ve been too much too soon imo

For me my biggest criticisms about the movie had to do with shadows backstory: Shadow wasn't created as the ultimate life form by Dr Gerald Robotnik through commission by gun and then attempted to cover up. They didnt mention Maria's illness nor why Dr Robotnik worked on the project (due to said illness). The major themes of shadow are identity and because none of this was written through the text of the movie, Maria, Gerald, and Shadow were all flatter characters because of it.

I do actually have a theory for sonic 4: the strange nova-looking thing that was left after the eclipse cannon could have sent rifts through time or is a rift through time. The idea is that the metal sonics are created by GUN to hunt down and take out threats. The result of the eclipse cannon's explosion caused some of the metal sonics to be sent back in time and, after finding sonic, are told by a higher up to bring sonic back with them. Amy could also be from the future as well, almost like a member of the freedom fighters, and followed the metal sonics to stop them changing the past. This could help introduce characters like silver or blaze, as they could be other freedom fighters. If they really wanna go for a stretch, they could even try bringing in Sally Acorn.

Here are some thoughts of how Sonic 4 is gonna go: 1. Metal Sonic (or Metallix named after his Fleetway comics counterpart) may very well be the main villain in Sonic 4. Metallix may have been created by Robotnik before the events of Sonic 3 as a last resort in the time of his death, now with Robotnik presume dead Metallix finally activates and decides to carry on his creators work. That being the death of Sonic & world domination, and by doing so, he creates an endless army copies of himself, which he names The Brotherhood of Metallix (another reference of the Fleetway comics). 2. Much like Sonic, Amy Rose could have lived on Earth her entire life and currently resides in New York. The only difference is that she came to Earth one year after Sonic came here, and years after hearing the Blue Justice stories, she decides to track him down. Now, the way Amy's character needs to be potray in Sonic 4 is that she needs to be a more responsible, hard-headed, and yet still kind-hearted character. Instead of movie Amy being a typical Sonic fangirl, she might take a dislike to Sonic due to his freecare attitude and adventurous nature, but later on maybe she will finally take a liking to him. 3. Now, even though it hasn't been confirmed yet, but I think Rogue the Bat might need to make an appearance in Sonic 4. The idea for her character is that she is an planet trotting jewel thief and is revealed to have a history with Knuckles. She'll start out as a villain at first but might become a ally in the final battle against Metallix. 4. Now, the plot for the Sonic 4 is still a mystery, but I think it might take elements from Sonic Heroes. I really want to see Team Sonic finally travel to other worlds to stop Metallix plans and maybe at a certain point could become Neo Metal Sonic (the only difference being he will be golden) and possibly end up transforming into Metal Overload by combining with his metal clones. 5. Now it was confirmed that Carrey may appear in Sonic 4, but I think he'll have a cameo in the post credit scene plotting his next move.

The concept art is really cool! I'm really curious how time travel will work in Sonic Movie 4 if they decide to go that route. I've never played Sonic CD but from what I heard, that game's story isn't all that long. I don't see Shadow having a big part in it or any part in it at all for that matter because he wasn't in Sonic CD. He wasn't even conceptualized yet at the time. I think the most we'll see of him is a quick few lines just to show (or remind if there isn't a show or movie based on him) people that he's alive before teleporting to an unknown location for the remainder of the movie

But also when Sonic and Shadow were fighting on the planet near the end I thought it looked like they were doing damage to the crust which could have also caused the Shattered Planet Crisis from the game. But if time travel was involved I wonder if it would have just been something like Sonic spinning the broken planet in the opposite direction turn time back?

If I had to guess the plot of the fourth movie, I think it’ll take inspiration from CD and something that’s never been done before. What I mean is that movie four will have its own story without anything from Sonic media, except for references and inspiration from CD. If I had to guess, I guess it may take inspiration from Sonic 06, even if we don’t see Silver. This movie is a little over two years from its release. That’s fine, you know? Let them take their time. I also wonder if Shadow is going to be a villain again, along side with Robotnik and Stone. They’ll probably be the reason on why Metal Sonic is a thing in the movie franchise. That’s my guess. With everything that was going on in that movie, time travel would have just made the plot convoluted. You can't just throw something like that in at the 11th hour. I personally don't think that time travel would have or even should be present in the films, as Sonic CD is already kind of a mine field topic to pull anything more than surface level ideas from. If they are going to do anything, it should be to start answering questions that have been around since the first movie. The films have their own lore now, so they can start leaning more into that in order to space out the adaptations and references. SA2 is kind of a big deal, in terms of Sonic plots, so I think dialing it back and ramping it up again is the way to go. Nonstop escalation tends to be disastrous in long form story telling.

@@SonicHubYT If it features around a Sonic CD adaptation of sorts, I wouldn't be at all opposed to the time stones being used to "undo" a potential bad ending, so long as they are established well enough ahead of time. However, I think they really should steer clear of any Back to the Future/Flashpoint level shenanigans. If anything, I think that would make for a good macguffin to utilize, instead of yet another Super Sonic ending. That's gonna get played out real fast if they're not careful.
