Your explanation of "why" for the pre-wash is more-or-less the same reason why I've switched to using a brown primer for a lot of minis, particularly if they need to look grimy or use a lot of "natural" colours. It was something I learned by chance in the method I used for painting my Cities of Sigmar.

For me this is the most impressive paint job you've done, and I've been watching for so many years, I just love it, it's perfect.

Cheers! I think it's probably pretty obvious I _really_ had some fun with this guy.

I really like this guy. I admit that I was skeptical about Trench Crusade until very recently--so many KZbinrs were talking about it that I assumed that there was a big sponsorship thing going on, but I heard this week that they had almost no marketing budget and this is all word of mouth. It makes me much more interested. (And I can't deny they look great.)

The fact all the popularity is word of mouth is incredible. I was sold when the Devs openly encouraged kitbashing and proxies

I was in a similar boat, honestly. Seeing it suddenly appear out of nowhere, everyone talking about it at all at once... all seemed a bit convenient! But after checking it out, seeing the lineage of the design and some of the team's previous work, it all clicked into place. Plus the fact so much of it is free and they're adamant about seeing people's conversions and kitbashes is pretty cool!

I know what you mean. It really does seem too good to be true!! I really hope it continues in the same way, and we may have a new top dog in the skirmish wargame category.

@@SonicSledgehammerStudio Yeah, my only complaint is I don't have a 3S printer, so I have to wait!

It's a bit TC overload on youtube at the moment , but the thing is to play the game you can use any minis you like not just the official ones

I love this! And, I love the color choices

This one video, more than any other, has me thinking about doing trench Crusade and trying out that paint set.

Trench Crusade is a converter' dream. There's so many great suggestions for kitbashing and making your own crazy stuff for the game to begin with, let alone the official stuff.

This is a great model with the release of the upcoming krieg box, I would love to see an updated death korps of krieg guardsman tutorial using a similar technique and aesthetic

I would love to see you do some Lord of the Rings miniatures (especially Rohan).
@TheMichaellathrop6 минут бұрын
So a couple of things,first how close of an analog are the browns in this new range to Rhinox hide, Mornfang Brown, and Snakebite Leather? Second the Normans were French at the point of the English conquest, so you also had the option to go with a french uniform style. Third I'm curious why you went with the stabilizer over water for that final orange/brown wash. And Fifth given the connection between Alchemy and later the theory of the 4 humors and the Zorn pallet I would love to see your interpretation of one of the armies using it. PS sixth how close is the color on Grimdark Shadow to something like winter streaking grime?

Awesome model 👍🏻 Love the aesthetic of the trench crusade models. How do they compare in size with GW 40k humans, like Krieg or cadians? Awesome paint job 👍🏻

Yet another excellent video! Where in the EU do you buy Instar Varnish+?
@SonicSledgehammerStudio2 сағат бұрын
There's a Swedish online store which sells them, though I cannot for the life of me remember their name. You could contact Instar directly to ask, and they do ship internationally as well, I'm pretty sure!

The Trench Crusade stuff is too dark for me to engage in from a spiritual perspective but these miniatures are beautiful, Troy. Did you apply mud effects to the edge of his coat? Great tutorial!
@SonicSledgehammerStudio7 сағат бұрын
Not any Stirland Mud specifically, but some of the paints used during basing get stipped on the jacket while doing the base. It's all part and parcel of the basing step, so I tried to cut this under twenty minutes with the rest of the basing stages in the other video.
