@foofeo Sorry I didnt go into that much depth on the organ - I will try and do a sounds only video too to compliment this. A LOT to get through on this workstation

Thanks for posting these reviews. I've been a RS7000 user for a while and love it to death..the sounds though are getting a little dated and the MOX6 might be my next purchase!

(cont 2) the live drummer if we use any type of arps), but fell short, just as you mentioned. I know I'll have hands on experience with both the Juno-Gi and MOX6 as of tomorrow, but I'd love to hear which one you believe has the edge for live performances (with full band) after your wonderful reviews. Thanks!!

Great review, thank you! Just one question: Is it made in Japan? (so low price ... )

@sonicstate - I agree, you have provided hands-down the best reviews on the web of both the Yamaha MOX6 and the Juno-Gi. As of today, I own both (to try for 30 days). I've already owed the Juno-Gi for 10 days and 2 gigs (trying to replace my bulky/heavy Motif 7 Classic). The Juno is much more performance-friendly than the Motif Classic, and I'm thinking it'll be better than the MOX. I purchased the MOX because I'm sure the arps will be much better than what the Juno provides. The Juno appear

(cont) appears to be more solidly constructed, even though I think it's lighter. I thought I'd miss the sequencer on the Juno but I don't. The USB song player is cooler than I thought, and does a great job of playing Logic-generated MIDI files or mp3s. The key action is preferable (not as sluggish) to the MOX, though the hinge-point makes both of them more difficult to play at the top of the keys versus the Motif Classic. The Juno almost hit a homerun with the click out (we need clicks for the

wondering if the sequencer of the MOX does have the "normal" functions such us copying measures/bars or removing them, have not hear anything about this in any of the tutorials on yt
@foofeo13 жыл бұрын
@sonicstate no worries, variable drawbar/leslie settings were pretty much the gist of what I was wondering about anyhow. if you can demo more brilliant but workstations are pretty deep so don't push yourself, thanks again!

Hey Nick, any review of the new Yamaha MOXF?
@samsamba0812 жыл бұрын
If you want the XS sound, it's good value (used XS6 is still slightly more expensive) - but the problem comes from the (in my opinion) artificial limitations Yamaha has once again put there in order to make it a "value workstation" - and I'm talking about the limited number of Insert FX and the 64 note polyphony. It's the same as it was with the predecessor, the MO. In 2012, it should be forbidden to sell any new keyboard with a 64-note polyphony limit.

This looks like it will take a long time to learn how to use the basic functions. Is there an instructional video available for this board?

How many LFOs ADRS are there? is there a Mod Matrix build inside. Can this complete with an Kingkorg or a Sledge when it comes down to synthesizer around 1000 Euros

After 21 years of being loyal to my Yamaha SY85, I can't load, save or format any 3.5 floppy discs anymore. What I want right now is the modern version of the SY85. Do you feel the MOX6 is it or what would be the right choice? I'm trusting your opinion. Thank you.

Are Yamaha likely to release a rack-mount, keyboardless version of the MOX?

sir, what can u say about the absence of sliders for volume adjustments while on layers.

The key feel on the MOX 8 is amazing. The best semi-weighted I've tried yet. Is the MOX 6 more synth-like in feel? I'm assuming the Juno Gi does pads better but this Yamaha does everything else better...

Depends on what you're doing, but seeing as that almost all other workstations in this price range have at least 128 polyphony, I'd consider it a significant negative. Try some compositions which include piano, using multiple chords, and the sustain pedal, and you'll understand what note stealing are the limitations of polyphony are all about. Don't get me wrong...64 is ok, but it's behind the times. Casio's newest releases have 256 polyphony.

So the mox6 is not key heavy??
@drylpresberry11 жыл бұрын
I would layer those drums with some midi drums because they don't sound rich.
@ayokay12311 жыл бұрын
The only significant negative is probably the 64 polyphony.

Insane how this has the motif XS engine but cost less than the motif XS Rack unit .. hmm we cant sample into this MOX6 only run audio threw , the korg pa600 you can sample anything you want 96mb stock user memory ... almost as many sounds , maybe better sounds .. then theres the MOTIF XF in the big dog class with the Kronos and Phantom8 , jupiter 80 or Roland Integra 7 ...
@javiceres7 жыл бұрын
Well, it shares the basic MOTIF XS architecture, but it is less powerful in almost all regards.
