I would love to see a regular (ish) show from these two fine gents, as their legacy episodes have been very useful to me for getting my head around all this new tech *Sonic Touch* has helped me understand music creation via apps with their solidly informative dialogues, AND introduced me to some truly lovely apps that I would not wish to be without now. - I hope you fellas consider getting back up into the dual drivers seats of your great (audio) bus, I for one, am already stood at the bus stop, ready to get onboard! :)

Good video, as usual. Thanks. You missed the best feature of audio units which is that you can have as many separate instances running at the same time. The old iPad Pro could also be charged while connected to things using the Apple usb3 dongle. AUM is great but there is another similar app called Apematrix that has better built in LFO control. There is an app called MIDILFOs that you can use to modulate apps in AUM. AUM can accept midi from outside itself, which reduces messiness in some cases. A good thing is to use a powered USB hub to improve power efficiency, although the battery of the new iPad Pro is much much better. Just a note that the guy who created the Rosetta apps is Bram Bos, not Bram brothers, easy mistake to make. So Nick now you see why I was bugging you to do more IOS videos. There is so much mire. There are some mind blowing synths like Layr, Unique, Aparillo, Synthmaster One, Syntronik, Kaspar, D1, and it goes on and on. Thanks again for the video. You guys are cool.

Perry Pelican fair play everything you say here Perry is spot on. It’s tricky with the free flowing style Nick and me follow which is always totally unscripted. Nick may interject just as I’m about to pursue a particular detail and the conversation veers off somewhere else. Subsequently we can’t always fit everything in. However stalwarts like your good self help out terrifically filling in the blanks. Ta!
@rdean1506 жыл бұрын
@Perry Pelican Which of the synths you listed would you recommend one check out first? I've tried Unique on Android via the now defunct Samsung Soundcamp. It was my favorite synth app on that platform actually. New iPad Pro owner here, and so far I've tried Korg Module (had to find a good piano first and foremost) and Korg's Arp Odyssey app. Both are quite good but I need moar!
@perrypelican94766 жыл бұрын
Ryan Dean its hard to recommend synths because we all have our own taste. Try an amazing free one called synth one by audiokit. Its free but is up there with the good ones. Listen to Gaz and get AUM and audioshare. You cant do without them. Watch videos by jakob haq and thesoundtestroom and hopefully more from Gaz and Nick. They are knowledgeable guys.
@perrypelican94766 жыл бұрын
Gaz Williams i was not trying to put you down, just give you info. I have been hoping you guys would do more IOS stuff because of your freewheeling style. Nick is a smart guy with a ton of cool knowledge that is way beyond me. I just play around. I wanted to make videos but i am not musical enough. I am more of a technical guy. I love playing around with midi and making things work. I love the iconnect interfaces. I have an iconnectaudio4+. What an amazing thing it is. Dedicated port for ios amd another for computer and another for a powered hub. It has a software interface that is insanely great. Its wild and not expensive at all for what you can do, which is absolutely anything. Wow here i go on a major tangent. Thanks again for the video and watching for more. Have fun!

Nice to see SonicTouch back , but I’m afraid they seem to have overlooked a couple of key aspects of AUv3 that should have been highlighted : Firstly that AUv3 allows MULTIPLE instances , so similar to VST you can use the app many times in same set up . I thought Gaz would have duplicated one of the apps to show this . Secondly AUv3 stores & reloads its current preset in the host , solving a previous issue that not all apps implemented StateSave even if you used Audiobus , & so loading Host presets didn’t guarantee the hosted apps had their own correct preset loaded . Also as a BTW , if Gaz wanted to show the desktop equivalence of IOS , a few floating instances of FabFilter ProQ , now available as an AUv3 ( freed from Auria only) might have got an Ooooh from Nick .

Hello guys, thanks for the video. I’m just getting info about AUM for my setup. Will AUM on one IPad 32gb 6th gen connect and sync a novation circuit, microfreak, a keystep pro connected to the same iPad, and a minilab mkII connected to an iPhone? Will AUM connect, Sync and record all the apps and hardware to play at once together? I also want to connect to a MacBook Pro for live streaming. Thanks in advance.

If you guys were to bring this series back from the dead, I'd love to see your unique angle to be to go into more detail on the "why should I give a fuck" angle of all the features and functions so many apps have. Very little reviews or videos or even app docs explain WHY a feature even exists... Like: "This app has feature A and feature B and those are great because it allows you to do X, Y, and Z, where if you didn't have these features then you'd not be able to do D, E, F." I think SS's history/legacy/context would be perfect for that kind of approach. There are already FAR too many channels that are essentially Audio Books for the manuals. No context, little value.

@@starkravine thanks for letting me know. Basically the app is no use for what I need because of this although I think it's the fault of Roli Noise they need to get that sorted out! I'm a bit gutted because this would have been perfect for me, Just now I need to constantly open and close apps.

Q, I have a Behringer Xenyx X1222 USB mixer. I have 4 microphones hooked into 4 XLR input channels. I have the mixer hooked into the USB into the computer. I also have software (Magix Samplitude Pro X3 and others) but I can only get it to record on 2 tracks. By splitting tracks L & R, stereo tracks. But I can’t get the DAW to record on no more than two tracks. So, can it be done and if so How? KR222.
