You know what they say... "The show must go on.. !! " regardless..; They had a contract with the CBS television network. Things got so ugly that the network had no choice but to cancel the show which was within the top ten rating at the time in 1974.

No,this was from their very last show (1974) when they were married.Joel Grey was on the program. The stage wasn't as big in 1971.Things weren't great.

This is the final show taped during the original series run: February 27, 1974. Orange globes were an element of the staging for the entire original series run, but the set was enlarged for season 3 (1973-1974), which is shown in this segment. The couple's marital woes went public immediately before taping this episode.

This was the FINAL "Taping" *(Pic and Story,""The Day It ALL Ended For "Sonny and Cher" TV Guide. This episode is described in the magazine with the presenting to the audience. Allen,Art Fisher's and Chris's own words. The last show the 32 million American's actually viewed a different episode. :-) In those days All shows were taped and sequenced in order to view reruns. This was the real deal my friend! Thanks So much!

They were separated long before this, they lived seperate lives got some time. She with David Geffen, him with Connie Foreman. Cher said this herself in many old interviews

Wrong. Actually judging by the "orange globe" backdrops, this was from season 1...things were still good.

The orange globes were in there show from 1971 to 1974 and the other backdrop was from 1976 to 1977
