So the answer I received is pretty much that meme/gif of the cartoon captain saying "well yes, but actually no". So I'm gathering that development may have had discussions with BA, but i'm not sure as to what level.

Thank you for following up on that! It's probably relatively safe to ass-ume then that BA is actually turning barrels for them still and there's nothing wrong with that.

Got this barrel lil less then year now and have loved it its actually alot queiter then 223 wylde ss wich sounds like a cannon going off
