Hello! If you see this, kindly advice how I should prioritize my purchase of a 75" TV for movie and gaming - how should these be ranked and why: Sony X900F, Samsung Q70R and TCL C825 miniLED? TCL is the cheapest while the Samsung is the most expensive, though all 3 within a few hundred dollars of each other. Thanks!

I hope you still answer here. I have a 65" x900f. Would like to know what your settings are for streaming, 4k DVD player and for sports/regular cable TV. I would greatly appreciate it. Also, how much of a difference does it make when it comes to the diifferent 4k HDMI cables. Hope to hear from you.

Hello my friend! There are several vids on my settings for the 900 series but typically i would use cinemapro and home amd set one up for clean content and set the other for more dramatic but grainy content doesn't matter which. What I mean is have your bells and whistles enabled for that content such as motion and dynamic contrast for tye cleaner content and have that stuff disabled for the rougher image. Also hdmi cables for me only matter as far as their bandwidth. 4k 60fps 18mps as long as you have that i wouldn't spend alot of money on them. Hope this helps and thank you for your question and for watching the video and channel

I'm a big fan of your channel. Couple of years ago I got the 900E 65" and now I want the 900F in 85" especially that they go for around $3000. Is it worth it or should I wait? Price is great right now and for me is strictly watching movies. Would you recommend the extra warranty from Best buy or not?. Thanks bro 🙏

Thank you Daniel! The 900f is an excellent choice and definitely worth it especially at that size . The 950g is a bit better so it might be worth waiting for it to drop . The difference is a slightly better picture and better Dolby vision implementation. If not the 900f is more than good enough.

Thank you for posting this video. I'm on the market for a new TV and thanks to Quantum's reviews I wanted to buy the 900E. Unfortunately back then they were sold out everywhere. Time passed and new models came out. Long story short, I found the 65" 900e for $1300, the 900f for $1400, and the 950g for $1600... Should I still get the legendary E model or should I go for a newer model? I honestly feel biased thanks to Quantum's reviews, lol.

Thank you for your question and sorry for the delay. I love my 900e however it is an oleder led and has an older chip. The others 900f and 950g are incremental upgrades however they are still upgrades worth Buying such as Dolby vision which has better implementation on the 950g over the 900f and both have the upgraded chip. So while I love my 900e i would go 950g , 900f and then the legendary 900e. Hope this helps and thank you for your question and for watching the video and channel

Doc, that is an amazing question and made even more interesting by the fact that your Samsung plasma is one of the brightest ever made. That said i really can only recommend the oled to you at this time as it is a natural progression from your plasma only deeper and brighter the 900f is excellent however you will experience some blooming which is something that will be alien to you coming from plamsa. In order for me to recommend an led to a plamsa user you'd have to move up to a flagship Z9d , or Z9f as their blacks are a little closer to what you are used to. All this is assuming you enjoyed your plasma. Hope this helps and thank you so much for your question and for watching the video and channel

@@BRIANSTECHTHERAPY ... This comment is a joke dude. I had the the 65" Q8FN and now have the 75" Q6FN and also spent time with the X900F, had a chance to get that aswel and i passed after my initial time with it. The only things the X900F does better then the Q6 is in contrast, local dimming and is a tad brighter. The Q6 smashes the X900F in game response time, better black uniformity, less distortion, better Motion Interpolation (21ms of the Q, 80.3ms on 900f), much better overall input times, better color gamut, better color volume, has Freesync for games, and has a much better OS. It really is a toss up, if your a gamer go with the Q6 (EVERY professional reviewer states this, it's the best gaming TV of 2018), if your more of a movie watcher go for the X900F. But to say the X900F is worth $800 more then the Q6 is ridiculous, considering their MSRP price is basically the same and reasons listed above. Only reason i traded in my Q8FN was for the bigger screen of the Q6 for around the same price. BTW the Q8FN is better then the X900F, if you want to compare then compare it with the Q6/Q7, not the Q8, the Q8 is in a league of its own, i have NEVER seen OLED quality images on a FALD until owning that TV! The only site i have seen that claim the X900F is close to the Q8 is RTINGS. The color gamut, black levels and contrast on the Q8 SMOKES the X900F. The X930E is more comparible to the Q8FN of this year, that TV was/is amazing. Sony dropped the ball this year on the 900F, the blooming issues are out of control. BTW the "75 Q6 is back up in price to $2500 (still $500 off), making the X900F $300 more now. I'm a big gamer and the choice is clear in that departement.

I moved my XE900E to the bedroom and have the newly bought XF9005 in the living room. XF just does what you would expect with it performing a little better than the XE in contrast, dimming, peak brightness with motion being the standout difference because I love the X motion clarity. XF does bloom a little more only on HDR because of the higher peak brightness but it's not terrible. I'd stick with the XF over this years Sony's XG's because frankly I feel Sony is now holding back its LED TV's to force OLED on consumers and this years model is pretty much a XF clone which in some areas performs a little worse than the XF.

Hey whisper, try my luck that you may still be answering questions here, though you and rage 5606 just about summed it up for me already. I just returned a Q70 82 inch I had for 27 days (30 day return policy) The main reason was the motion handling, it was really horrible for a $3000 2019 tv, I too am still watching 73” Mitsubishi DLP, 3-4 year old bulb going dim (new one here tomorrow) but because I’ve been watching this one for almost ten years that with a new bulb looks great and handles motion better than the Q70 but the Q70’s beautiful crisp picture I’ve experienced and got a taste and am now addicted, I am also this year waiting for Black Friday, this tv seems to be beckoning for my acceptance but I don’t want to have to go through the awful goodbyes and return headache again, I really want to upgrade pic and size and my question is, Nearly a year later have you heard more or had any experience with the 900f 85 inch in regards to uniformity and blooming and your thought on screen lottery for that size and durability🤞

Hello my friend! Great question and its actually an easy answer, you'll see much more improvement with the 900f and not just in motion but in overall picture quality in regards to black level, peak brightness as well as dolby vision HDR. The 900f would be in competition with the Q80 which is a huge step above the q70r. I think you'll be very pleased as you'll have the size but the pic quality as well. Again thanx for your time.

Good vid B. Here are my thoughts, if I am not mistaken, one of the big issues with Dolby Vision on the Sony sets (at least 2017) is that it was not compatible with the HDMI inputs; ergo it does not work with blue-ray players, only streaming. I was unaware that they had fixed this issue and had heard it was the same on 2018 models as well. Do you have any information? As you know I have he same set as you and one of the reasons I went with the 75900e is cause they screwed the Dolby Vision up for the 930&40...🤔

First of all Happy New Year, all the best in 2019 to anyone reading this:)!!! We are buying a new 75" 4K TV in next few days and are looking for some feedback. Currently we are using a 2013 Sharp 1080P 70LE757U LED 2 240 Aqua Motion 120hz.The Sony XBR900F is past what we are willing to spend so we are considering the XBR850F or Samsung NU8000. Being in Canada we have locked in pricing for a Samsung NU8000 or Sony XBR850, @ $2350. The XBR900F at $3499 is past my budgetbut the top pick for us but we found a 2017 XBR900E available at $2999, $650 more than the 2 main picks w the Samsung getting the nod. Wondering if it is really worth it for the 2017 set vs the other 2 options at $650. Mixed usage is primary use with sports second and then netflix and movies upconverted but no true 4K streaming yet. The room offers light but I don't have to worry about glare and we enjoy watching movies in a darker enviroment. No real serious off angle viewing. The 900E is still better then the NU8000 but if one cant get the 900F is it more worthwhile to save the $650 for the slight advantage the 900E has over the NU8000 or is the 900E the better long term buy for say the next 5-6yrs?

Please tell me I won’t have buyer remorse? It will go on the wall, and adding a Sony 4K Blu-ray as well. I’m leaning toward this instead of OLED. Can’t find any 85 inch reviews. I’m worried but excited!

I would never laugh my friend as being a former dlp owner I can certainly appreciate were you are coming from. You are also correct in having to jump in size as a 75" 4k screen will in fact be smaller than your 73" screen when you account for bezel and framing of the display so I think you'd be very disappointed with a 75" size. With 85" there is very little to choose from. There are lots of mid range displays from All the manufacturers . The only higher end larger size display is the Sony 900f that I would trust in regards to performance and pic quality however I'm not sure of your budget. Rtings tends to have reviews of lots of these mid display you just have to go down to the pricing which will also reveal the size options as well. Just be mindful of edgelit displays at that size are trouble and also HDR performance tends to be underwhelming though it has it in the specs. In terms of comparing 4k to a dlp I feel just the peak brightness and sharp image will make you like you made the eight decision as I always found dlp while very nice to be warm but soft without having the blacks of a plasma. Good luck and please let me know what you decide. I'll check out some options. While you look as well and I'll leave them here. Thank you for your question and for watching the video and channel

Whisper Status 74 Thanks. I am pushing for the 85” 900F. You are right on about the display size. If I don’t go with the 85” I will be losing the feel of size and theatre experience. I can get the 85” for $4900 right now. Silly money, but I saved for it over the years. I first considered the 77” LG OLED, but it’s toooo pricy taking away all I have budgeted for cables, 4K blu-ray upgrade, mount, installation, and extended warranty. I also have a bright room, big windows, so I need the brightness. When I darken the room or play a movie at night, I’m hoping to use a different mode that will be appropriate for the dark room viewing. I got to see the 85” and the 77” OLED on display at Best Buy. My wife stays home and the tv is on a lot. Burn in concerns is a big issue and the brightness as I mentioned. Really love what the OLED offers in performance but I can’t have both. I just with I could see the 85” demo other than just the 4K/8K video at the store. My concern is that regulate cable tv programming will just look horrible as the low res, even 720P with just be magnified and be garbage. My DLP hid this well over the years, but I must move on. Can’t keep waiting for the bigger better deal. I fear that the 85” choices may go away so I need to act now. So, if I can afford it do you say “ go for it” and “good choice” on the 85” Sony 900F purchase? Thank for your input and response.

I think the 900f is an excellent choice and perhaps your only quality choice. The 77" oled while gorgeous will still be to small and oleds tend to look poor with regular cable channels. The 900E the one you see on the whisper status channel Is a 75" 900E and is amazing and the best display I have ever known and if had the best of the best In terms of quality and price and the 900E does everything great and has no weaknesses and the 900f is slightly better but has Dolby vision and comes in 85" . So in order to see the 900f all you have to so is watch my 900E videos and know yours will look even better 😁 good luck and please let me know if you need any help and how it goes! Thank you again for watching the video and channel

A tad more blooming in the 900f compared to the 900e on my demo, may have been the settings in store but it's worth checking out if you are susceptible to such things. Really don't know why some tvs have such large pedestals,its an own goal from them as many folk have expensive av racks or are unwilling to wall mount. Like my 900e more and more as time goes on, great advice from this site. If I could go for a 85 inch 900f without my wife fileing for divorce I'd be all over it! Decisions, decisions 😂

soka RIKA The 930e is better in pretty much every respect
@BRIANSTECHTHERAPY6 жыл бұрын
I wouldnt say the black level is noticeably better . Though edge lit its multilayered backlight helps it blacks however the challenge with the 930E is finding a good panel as most are defective. Blacks don't matter much you have glowing edges and edge lit bleed. I no longer recommend the 930E due to it's high failure rate.
@Beamber6 жыл бұрын
Whisper Status 74 Most are defective? What data are you basing this on?
@BRIANSTECHTHERAPY6 жыл бұрын
Beamber the 930E is easily the display I'm contacted about in regards to edge lit problems , flashlighting on KZbin Instagram and Facebook. Subs to the channel have sent me hundreds of pics of their 930e's that they have had to send back. My Samsung ks9000 was the same way and I had 4 of those . I feel the edge lit mixed with the thin bezel and amazing peak brightness can cause issues of the panel isn't perfect. When it's perfect Its an amazing display and I've recommended it all through 2017. It could manufacturers it could be shipping but either way it's an issue . I'm glad you have a good one
@ericthompson87485 жыл бұрын
I had a 930E and I’ve seen the panels have great black levels, unfortunately mine did not so I sold it and finally got a Z9D after the price drop. Panel lottery sucks but if you can get a 930E that doesn’t suffer from the panel lottery, man, you easily got one of the best edge lit displays ever made.

940E !! It's an easy call! It's called the baby Z9d for a reason! Excellent pic quality many zones ,zero blooming and very bright while the 900f is an incremental upgrade over the 900E which I love but having the 940E I can tell you the 940E was a good deal better. Hope this helps and thank you for your question and for watching the video and channel

F is clearly better than E because, F has better motion flow, less input lag and Dolby Vision. Even if panel lottery fucks you over and you get slightly worse blacks when "upgrading" from an E to F those well compensate for it.
@BRIANSTECHTHERAPY6 жыл бұрын
I feel it is an improvement in most every way. The new chip alone is the biggest change as the Dolby vision ability speaks for itself . However it is still an incremental upgrade in regards to its overall pic quality meaning that if you already have a 900e i dont recommend it however if your a first time buyer the 900f is the easy choice. Thank you for your comment and for watching the video and channel

It will always look better on a 4k BLURAY disc due to compression however streaming is obviously more convenient. Good luck and check out the channel for some settings.

The 900e may cost more as the inventory dwindles. The z9d cost more than the z9d. I agree the 900f is the better choice for the chip alone. Great comment

In that case i would go with the newer 900f as the dolby vision capabilities and newer cheap is more than worth that price difference
@user-pt9rc4rb8z6 жыл бұрын
the 900F would be for my dark living room so motion has to be excellent for sports, fast action scenes, a ninetendo switch will be hooked up in the living room. my receiver is a denon but doesn't have dolby vision capabilites but it does have HDR,HLG and dolby atmos and DTS-X only but all imputs are HDCP 2.2 and $k capable
@BRIANSTECHTHERAPY6 жыл бұрын
You could still get dolby vision through your 4k bluray player if it has it . Use the 2nd hdmi which is audio only and split the signal thus avoiding pass thru.

I have the 900e Luis and I love it! That said I believe the 900f is a smidge better, primarily because of the higher end extreme chip which also includes Dolby vision. If you can still find the 900e for cheap you cant go wrong but the 900f is a very slight upgrade

@@kef103 I will tell that if your seeing really bright corners on menus of both movies such as NETFLIX and gaming the 900f and newer Sony displays seem to shut off local dimming entirely until the content is playing which is different than the 900e so that could be part of what your seeing. As for content the blooming should actually be slightly less. Is it mostly apparent in menus or when searching?
