Sony A7R V | Can this be a video camera? | Compare with A7s iii

If you are just interested in 4K video, I would go with the a7S III. With 12.9 MP, it is 4K without all that downraezng that would be required with the a7R V and its 61MP sensor. A frame of 4K uses 8MP. The a7R V has 61MP. You don't need that for any video. The a7R V camera is more a hybrid. It is a photo camera that does video. The a7 S III is a video camera that does photos.

the a7R V doesn't down-res.. it pixel bins.. like the a1 does.. & it seems the rolling shutter performance in the pixel binned FF 4k mode is better than the a7IV

A7sIII - Good video camera to Rent when using intensive production A7rV - Good video/photo camera to have in your bag. 24/7 as much as the winner on VIDEO specs is A7sIII. you would not even bring that all the time as hobbyist, I prefer renting the A7sIII and buy the A7rV

I like the 8k, especially if a future firmware update will allow 4:2:2 (instead of 4:2:0) but I like the 240 fps of the A7Siii (which can be upconverted from HD to 4k). I am torn.

Rolling shutter is bad in Sony a7r 5.

It's fantastic! BUT!!! The rolling shutter on it make it not really a good hybrid. In it's defense it has a 61mo sensor so... Yea photography is pretty great

Pretty good review... but, why the background music? that music is totally unnecessary and distracting.... thank goodness the music is no louder than it is.... also, your audio (voice) is a little hollow; sounds like you are using the camera mic.... just a couple of constructive comments from a long time professional videographer..... regards... im between the fx3 I love it design, and the a7r 5 im 70 video and 30 photo, if you were me, which one it is the best option keeping in mind the long term factor to keep during like 5 years or so without upgrading, above the rolling shutter, that can be easy fixed right with the M1 Max MacBook Pro with any editing software like catalyst browse from Sony or any other? and iso, according to you, it is great in low light o terrible comparing it with a7siii?
