Thank you for speaking of the dimming. Some other people were saying it’s a non issue. Thanks for clarifying for us. It absolutely needs a setting like LG and Samsung to help with the logo dimming.

With the Nvidia shield, use the app refresh rate, allows you to customize the refresh rate per app or use network debugging to auto change it. It uses the accessibility service, and you need to keep it in memory for it to work.

It would be interesting to know if the dimming is based on brightness level or if increasing Gamma would make the dimming happen. Well dims the breaks.

ClassyTech, I am in the market for a 77" TV. I am looking at the A95L at 5K or getting the new LG G4 when its available in April. Due to a leak, we know the G4 will get a new generation of processing. Plus other tweaks, this could land the G4 at or above the Sony in many areas, possibly at a lower price. I know you can't predict the future. However, if you were in my shoes would you wait another 3-4 months or would you spend the 5K on the Sony now? Thanks for the feedback!
@ClassyTechCalibrations Жыл бұрын
Each company makes changes to processing every year. LG's has minor changes every time. It's still a WRGB OLED and will have the same downsides.

I have been complaining about the dimming, namely the ABL. I called Sony this week and outlined what was happening. The technical department informed me that there will be another firmware update coming sometime soon that is addressing that. That is from an agent and not an official announcement, but it is encouraging. She said that lots of people have complained about it.

Hey Classey! Is it safe on a brand new A95l to use a panel refresh? I have one line of banding I can only really see when screens off from a certain angle, could this go on its own after a 100 hours of use? Or will I have to do a panel reset that’s only meant to be done once a year? Thanks.
@nyyijaxxvi952911 ай бұрын
New owner of an A95L here as well, and I had this issue. I would run it just once. Also I would recommend to be patient. I had really bad vertical banding out of the box but now after about a month since my purchase, it has gotten remarkably better. Just run a lot of HDR content to break in those pixels and you should notice that it clears up after a month or two.
@Rollaroundtap11 ай бұрын
@@nyyijaxxvi9529 thanks mate! I will just leave the panel refresh and keep running hdr to try get it clean. Do you know why you can only see it from certain angle ? Don’t want to jump the gun and send back if it’s banding, waited 3 months for it to arrive and I’m in love with it, my heart sank when I noticed it the other day while dusting it with a microfibre lol. Didn’t even know what banding was so hoping that’s all it is. 🙌🏻

Thank u classy! I want the A95L 77” so bad but the ASBL logo dimming i think problem is what makes me going off it. so do u think going G3 77” is a good idea? Especially coming from Samsung ks series. Mostly for Cable Sports & Movies, I also did buy the Samsung Q990C soundbar. I want to go G2 83 or better the 77” before but i decide to wait for our brighty living room.

You can no longer disable all the dimming on LGs either. Only Samsung can you still disable it. However, in most use cases it's a non issue.

Nice video! I really don’t know what to think about heatsinks. I feel like Sony’s heatsinks are not that useful. Panasonic were the first ones to implement a heatsinks and I think their heatsinks are the best, I could see them push qd-oled to its limits, if they decide to go that route. They did the same with W-oled with the Gz2000 before anyone else.

If the screen is susceptible to scratching from being in the box, or even if a test meter touches it, how the hell would you ever clean it? And do the S90C and S95C TV’s have the same problem since they share the same panel as the A95L??

Soft high gsm microfiber towel and distilled water. Yes, all QD OLEDs are fairly easy to scratch.

I don't understand why Sony gets a pass year after year when Dolby Vision has issues on their displays. This isn't a niche video format at this point given the majority (probably >90%) of streaming content is Dolby Vision. I have an A95K for my bedroom to play with, but putting Sony TV in my mini-theater room is a non-starter until they nail Dolby Vision as well as LG.

No screen packaging film. No 4 2.1 HDMI ports. $1000 more, yet an incredibly arrogant attitude towards the customer. Don't care how good the processing is, it's not $1000 better in spite of all the things that are missing.
@ClownTown15000 Жыл бұрын
Assuming you are an adult, you need to make more money. $1,000 should be chump change, not something to quibble over. This is about quality. $1,000 is meaningless.

Lol even somebody with money will complain you only playing for the factory calibration and acoustic and Sony tax classic can calibrate your TV for less than that and it doesn't handle dark good, you can calibrate a LG yourself if it comes down to it
@mikew1080 Жыл бұрын
@macgyvermac2344 well, for starters, calman autocal and software sucks. Second, a colorimeter alone will not get you accurate results. Finally, Sony being more expensive is not a con. You are paying more for a better product. If you are somehow upset that you can't afford it, that's a personal problem.
@macgyvermac2344 Жыл бұрын
@@mikew1080 and that's a your problem when u think calman auto cal suck because that's the same calman they use for bvm tearing down multiple companies because LG does it better even with a i1 pro 😂
@mikew1080 Жыл бұрын
@macgyvermac2344 I have three lgs and an a95l. Calman Autocal is still garbage regardless of the display. An I1Pro does nothing for anyone if it isn't profiled against a proper spectro. It's painfully clear to me that you do not know what you're talking about.
