Thanks for your review. However, I wished you mentioned that the Rx1 Lens has a 2 in 1 function because it's a 35mmf2.0 wide angle and it could also be a macro lens as well.

I owned a Nikon D7000 for 3 years now but lately I started to leave it at home when I travel and instead a take my Sony RX100 (which is lacking at it's lens). Do you think that the Sony A7 is a good upgrade from the Nikon D7000? (currently I have some extra lenses for the D7000 (a 50mm 1.4, 70-200mm + the 18-105 kit)

So can I just buy the RX1's Zeiss glass as a separate for the A7? I'm in love with the form factor of the RX1, but I need 4k video so I'm looking at the A7S II. But I would still like a bit more portability vs a larger lens, while still maintaining quality. Sorry if this is a dumb question, I'm just getting into this. Thanks.

what is the strap that you have on your RX!? Is it the camera strap that came with it?

Some inaccuracies. Firstly the phase detect is accurate, and in any event you can switch it off the A7. Secondly the A7 is fully metal except for the front plate, the A7r has a metal front plate. No reviewer has managed to tell the difference. Personally I feel there is a place for both these cameras in you collection, if you can afford it. The RX1 , in terms if suez, quietness a

I'm tired off all those new cameras. First the value killing marketing of the bigger companies. Canon, Nikon, Sony etc... everybody in electronics. Bought a nikon D300 only 5 years ago. 1500 $. Now available at 250-500 $ everywhere. Discovered the sony RX1 one year ago. Dreamt of buying one.. I didn't; Thank to God. Can buy it for 1900$ in Europe. Brandnew. Killed by the A7 series. What do I hear: a kitlens. One shock in a bag, one light fall. Value gone, lenses shift, unreparable. Bought a used Leica M3 in 1972 200$. Now worth still working perfect. Value... guess. Still use the D300. I can count the clicks and preview when it will die. It looks as be designed (software) by the guys who created the Tamgochi animals . My advice with the actual camera offer. Buy one, use it. Don't love it. Throw it away and buy another one. Your money will be spend , but you'll have fun.

if the rx1 was interchangeable, id have bought it on pre-order... still waiting for an interchangeable + pocketable + full frame (IPFF, im coining that acronym right now) camera... the a7 was just a let down, far too big and cringe 'professional' camera aesthetics... i was expecting a full frame nex, but got a camera thats basically just the same size as a traditional DSLR... maybe fujifilm will release an IPFF xe2 before sony? surely there are enough street and travel photographers out there just like me, who want super quality photos without the bulk...?

i'd never buy an rx1 because of the non interchangeable lens. then again the A7 is E mount so i probably wouldnt consider that either
