Got no issue with the form factor or visibility of these but not having full Android compatibility is a deal breaker for me 😢 Surely companies with the heft of Sony and WS Audiology have the resources to solve this problem once and for all. I'm hoping for an updated or Android version that fixes it. Thanks for the great review, Matthew.

Hey Kleopatros, I agree completely. I'm hoping that down the line this is one of the first things that they look at for Gen 2. Thanks for watching and for your kind words. Matthew

I fully agree although to kinda make you feel any better it's the way even prescription hearing aids are going these days leaning more towards iPhone than Andriod leaving us users without much of a choice where we don't have to wear a neck loop I mean there are pros and cons to wearing one but still I wish most of them had true Andriod compatibility

It's very annoying considering Sony makes their own Android phones. The Xperia 1 IV for example is a flagship model and they market it to audio/video oriented creators. Touting it's ability to record and reproduce high fidelity audio. Really seems like a missed opportunity for them to market the HAs along side the phone. I have the Xperia, it is great hardware, though comes with classic Sony drawbacks in terms of software quality and high price tag. I am planning to get to CRE-E10s for my father for his birthday. I'm really hoping these workout for him, unfortunately he uses a Samsung ☹

Thanks for an informative review. When will these be available to purchase in the UK? The Hearing Control app isn’t currently downloadable here either.

Hey Zane, sadly not and there’s no sign of them coming over any time soon as they fall under the US’s OTC scope. Keep watching and I’ll keep you posted if there’s any change on that front. Matthew

Hi, Are they useful for profound hearing loss? That is to say, does it transfer the audio from the right ear to the left ear to be able to listen?

The BIGGEST problem with OTC hearing aids is there is not a matrix spreadsheet that shows all hearing aids with features. Things like Android capability, in ear or over the ear, chargeable of battery etc etc etc. I keep buying hearing aids that don't do a lot of things I want and I am waiting patiently for that pair to arrive. It hasn't yet.

Hi. Just starting the OTC hearing aid search. I really appreciate your information on KZbin. I’d like to ask a couple of questions, please. I wear hats and sunglasses or reading glasses most of the time. Where are the microphones located on the over ear units and are they compatible with hats and sunglasses? I can’t let no hearing aids be messin’ with my style. Can your wear either in or over ear type when lounging on the couch watching TV and laying on your side, head pressed into a pillow? I realize they won’t pick up sound, but will they be uncomfortable? Are the any good in ear OTC hearing aids that are rechargeable and don’t need frequent changes of batteries? I’m stylish and lazy. Thanks, Maury

These have surprisingly been my preferred HAs for my tinnitus. I have a couple other BTE/RIC aids, but also wear glasses, so recently I have leaned on wearing these ITE Sonys as they are more comfortable for me. I also think that they sound the best for me compared to my other aids. The streaming function for Apple iOS is also really nice and sounds almost like a pair of normal headphones which is a plus as I use the streaming for masking sounds all day. Highly recommend them and thanks for a great video!

I have the Signia Active Pro's which are in the same model range as the CRE E10 but have some additional functionality. Based on my user experience the points you discuss in your thorough review are detailed and accurate and you highlight the relevant considerations and caveats to the design. I personally like the style and they work well although mine were configured to my audiogram by an audiologist. Downsides: The charging case internal battery failed in first 6 months requiring warranty replacement and the metal contact based charging design in the case is prone to wear resulting in it becoming difficult to place the earbuds to make contact in order to charge. Something that could be improved in a gen 2 model?

We'll wait for something in Android. Question, ❓ I and frequently out with sprinklers in the field. If I get hit with water either from a sprinkler or from a drop of rain my hearing aid will go dead with the over-the-ear type hearing aid. Would these be more from water? Thanks

Hey Mart, great question. If your hearing aids are up to date they should have an ip68 rating which is the same that the Sonys have. Matthew

Hello, First thank you for the video and the links/references that you shared. I have met an ENT doctor and he requested that i do an audiogram test, I do have the test results with me and I wonder if any of the following devices: Sony CRE-E10, Jabra Enhance Plus, the Eargo 6 OTC or Eargo 7 OTC allow me to manually enter the results of the audiogram test? by that I meant the hearing level / frequencies to be entered on the device application manually instead of following the preprogrammed test that each device will do on the mobile application before the start of using the product? My second question: my right ear have more serious hearing loss than the left, i want to use only the right side device, please advise which brand/model is best in operating as solo instead of pair? I mean if I want to use the right side device only, would it be possible and do I get the most performance from it? Any disadvantages? Thank you for letting me know.

Thanks for the video. I live in Europe and those OTC hearing aids are not for sale here. So I ordered them in the USA, but next problem: the Sony app isn't available in Europe as well. I asked the Sony helpdesk and they confirmed: only for USA. I managed to work my way around this problem and have got the app on my Iphone, but be warned: if you don't live in the USA this could be a problem for you.

I am currently using Starkey high end model. Its sound quality is very poor. I can hear but cannot listen many of conversations because of lack of low frequency side of any sound. I use ordinary wired earphones to watch KZbins without any problem since these give me full range of frequency. My question is if this SONY's Aid gave me better sound quality?

On the subject of worrying about what someone else thinks of my wearing or not wearing them, my attitude is, It's none of your business! If you don't like it, look the other way! I have said before I think that hearing aids especially earbuds will become a fashion statement in the not-to-distant future.

Although I have no idea the percentage of Android users, I can't help but think they are missing out on a considerable amount of the population by not offering at the very least ASHA Android. I would have been somewhat interested in them, but I have no interest in buying a iPhone.

Hey Matthew. Your vids are top notch. You cover everything. I am currently wearing a more expensive set of HA’s that are 6 years old, the battery door latch broke off so the door slant snap shut. I am going to see if there’s a trial period available. I would go with the more expensive Sony set. Again, great vid.

Bulky looking. Avoid chargeable aids at all cost. Battery fails to charge after awhile. If your job is critical on hearing, you'll want to be able to swap out a battery within seconds. Only one color? Not for me - move on.
