Venom is a popular character sure he is related spider man, however Venom's own comic series like Donny cates just step out of spidey shadow and he has the best stories. Their reasoning would have been more sound if it was ACTUALLY connected to the MCU somehow. Its the same mistake that FOX made with the First Class and after X-MEN movies and with Fantastic Four. They couldn't or refused to read the room and ergo nobody cared. We want these characters to be together, not apart. Period. No pass go. No collecting 200 million dollars on opening and no take backsies. Quit sequestering characters and the money will follow.

I think if they had better writers, storied and characters selected, this could have gone places. A few characters I 'think' could have worked would have been (Dependng on character rights) Black Cat, Molten Man, The Prowler, Scarlet Spider, Swarm, Tarantula, Warrant, The Jury, Cardiac, Tombstone, Beetle, Annex. Some of these could have been the main character facing off against another as a villain

Yeah, Sony totally misplayed this idea. That being said, it may have worked somewhat had they put out decent movies. Madame Web was the final straw for a lot of fans. Quite possibly the worst superhero movie I have ever watched (haven't seen Kraven yet, though). I would sit through the final episode of Secret Invasion again before rewatching Madame Web.

Let’s face it, I think Venom (2018 - 2024; TBA) is the only spin off movie that they done a really good job giving his Origen story of Eddie Brock becoming as Venom and got love 💕 by the Audience and fans + getting a trilogy for the Sony Spider-Man Universe. 👍 The other Spider-man spin-off villains are unnecessary to give them Origen stories.

I think Marvel needs to 100% get the license agreement reevaluated the contract, to force Sony to just focus on the animated side because clearly Sony is only doing these live action movies that way proper Marvel can’t use them so quickly… kinda like how tv vs the film side of dc the last decade.

Yet again, another movie that general audience enjoyed, but comic book snobs and movie critics slate, and hurt ticket sales. The majority of people are being introduced to these characters for the first time, and dont care about the differences between movie and comic, and causal co.ic fans like myself, can accept these as alternate universe versions. Ive not seen this yet, but have enjoyed all of the Sonyverse movies, more than most post-End Game movies, and the user reviews for Kraven are fairly good, so will still be watching
