For those looking at this in the future, the original mat needs to be on the platter in the correct position (all holes lined up) and either cover the holes on the mat or put a record on so the sensors can read the record size. Otherwise it won't play automatically. I have a ps-lx5 that needs some work, issue is the tonearm goes to 45 position when starting a 33 record then it almost drops then returns back to it's holder. Any ideas of what could cause this? Thanks!

@@sergioflores7169 man, I'm working on a lx33 which probably uses the same mechanism. Thanks for sharing this info, I'm trying fixing that turntable, and is not easy at all.

Hey I got the same sony player as a gift from my uncle. I bought a new needle and the sound is great but I have the following problem: I can play music if I move the needle with my hand to the vinyl. If I press start/stop nothing happens. Start/Stop works only for one time after I dragged the playplate a bit by hand. But even then it only works for one start. The light from servo lock is allways on.. When I power the turntable on, it starts spinning automatically and does not stop. I tried to clean everything with contact spray but it didn‘t fix the problem. Should I bridge the board like you did or do you have another idea how I could fix it? Thanks for reading, I‘m looking forward for your answer :)
