Sony Pulls GAMING HEADS License... GH Tells Customers Ask Sony for a REFUND?

Looks like statue company Gaming Heads is going through it with Sony. Apparently Sony has pulled their license and asked them to NOT DELIVER and to DESTROY in stock items. Gaming Heads proceeds to post an open letter telling its customers to contact SONY FOR THIER REFUND.

This screams class action lawsuit. Distributors need to be held responsible. It should NEVER be the customers responsibility. Gaming Heads needs to figure this shit out on their own. Refund your customers FIRST. If you're awaiting a refund then a good start would be filing a report with the Better Business Bureau.

It's bullshit that you need to ask Sony for a refund. You don't have an agreement with Sony but Gaming Heads. And indeed, what did Gaming Heads do they get their licence to be revoked in that manner? Also that statement gives me a headache....

I've been waiting for Gaming Heads to go under for a long time now. We'll see if this does it. Their quality is just not up to par with other statue companies. They price gouge their older pieces directly from their own site that have been sold out for ages. All the sudden they reappear on the site for 3 times or more what their original retail price was. They also regularly put their statues on sale at 50% off. I bet their sales have been bad for quite a while and Sony doesn't want to deal with them anymore.

yeah ive seen a few individual statue/figure companies starting to price hike their own stock shortly after release, and the fact that Gaming Heads statues and figures were around the 500-600 for a 1/6 is incredibly high for pieces announced 5 years ago with that little quality before the massive Resin and PVC material price hikes. Hell my Dark Souls 1/4 Sif was $550 at the time.

I thought about ordering the Joel and Ellie statue but when researching about the product and company, saw a lot of questionable comments and reviews saying the gaming heads is a scummy company, from taking forever to deliver products, to what they did make was not very good quality so I decided not to place an order, so glad heeded those comments and passed on it.

Been talking about this company for 10+ years, they make low quality items for high prices and never ever deliver on time some pieces have been 4 years after PO. Also thhey sell their own pieces at higher after market prices straight from the website...always told people not to use them and this doesn't surprise me with them 1 bit.

Gaming Head has been around for a long time. I know the current Director for First 4 Figures was also the Creative Director for Gaming Head but left to focus on F4F seems like they haven't been doing well since then.

It's simple: they don't have the money. Between tens of cancelled protoypes in the last few years, to statues stuck in production for years, this problem with Sony is the final nail in the coffin. It was already shaky, now they'll take a huge loss on this whole ordeal on top? Even if they wanted to refund everyone, there's no way they have the funds. I don't see how they'll survive this. I don't see how anyone would pre-order anything from them again moving forward. Even if it's Sony's fault. I sure won't. It's not worth the risk. I still have a fallout Nuka Girl statue on pre-order, I paid the deposit 4 years ago, and still nothing. I've come to accept that they'll never produce this thing, and I lost my deposit.

¼ scale Raziel from Legacy of Kain/Soul Reaver series was my first statue. It's still one of my favorites. They completely dropped the ball with the follow up Kain statue that was eventually cancelled. Really sucks that they had some Bloodborne stuff in the works that will now be scrapped.

glad I don't have any open PO's with them anymore. Only ordered the Master Chief Statue and I had to personally Email them to ship it after it was paid off. They never sent me a shipping invoice even tho it was ready to ship for awhile.

Gaming Heads definitely must've been behaving in some form or fashion for Sony to drop the hammer. When we look at how well Playstation IP's and other video game characters are doing for Prime 1, Sony may have just decided to use Gaming Heads next slip up as an excuse to terminate their licesning. While it's not without its faults lately, P1 certainly has its recognition as being a top of the line brand that serves high end products to the most dedicated fans and collectors.

I have a couple of Mass Effect and three Tomb Raider statues from Gaming Heads. I really love them. However, they went almost two years where they took out one or two payments for one of my current TR statues on preorder, then stopped. Then they'd go a month or two collecting the payments again, then stop. I never know when they're going to take money out, and that has become increasingly annoying.

I bought from them nearly 10 years ago, my first and only purchases being the Heavy and Sniper from Team Fortress 2 when I was a big fan. The cell shaded style works great and I'm still happy with the statues after all this time. Just out of curiosity after reading the comments I went and checked the prices on the website. I bought the Heavy for 250 dollars, now it sits at 430 dollars... that's nearly double the price. I now just wonder what's going on behind the scenes, because I feel like GH is not telling the customers everything. Also if this becomes a lawsuit they will lose, because THEY received the money and made the transaction with the customer, so they have to refund. They can however fight with Sony over the way things are being handled.

I have 2 statues that I bought directly from gaming heads and I've never had a bad experience with them. However, there was some drama a few years ago. Collectors were accusing gaming heads of canceling pre-orders made through 3rd parties and then dramatically raising the price of the statue and posting it for sale on their own website. They have a general reputation for being a shady company. What's really interesting is that they're connected with first 4 figures. Will F4F be negatively impacted by the gaming heads drama?

There pieces are kinda wack tbh. They have a decent one every so often. But their quality is really bad. I have 3 pieces and like them but I’ve noticed there juman faces are mid af especially newer pieces. The Ellie last of us 2 statue is $650 that dark horse dropped for $200 or get the mini version for $50

I honestly didn't expect this amount of Mega Corp bootlicking on this topic. They're telling you to ask Sony cause it would be a drop in the bucket for them. If Sony doesn't wanna pony up they'd have to let the figures already paid for ship if they wanna avoid the terrible pr. I personally would demand Sony fix this. There is for sure something missing in all that story. I agree that Gaming Heads should step up and refund the customers, BUT, you are not considering their side. Gaming Heads opened a pre-order and started production based on a limited number of sales, so, they had all the expenses related to production cost, factory, customs, etc etc. If somehow Sony is indeed not allowing them to ship the products (this sounds like BS), I can imagine the hard time they will face by having to refund everyone + all the other costs mentioned earlier. This is a big L for Gaming Heads... probably the reason they are going public with this...

No no this company is kinda bad. Having a preorder for like 2+ years and then getting told nope sorry ya not getting it or something else they do. Check out there pages. People are like are we ever gonna get more info on this or that. Not just the Sony stuff anything they have. They’ve lost license before cause of this. Also Sony might try and make there own stuff. But they have a contract with P1 so that might be better but at least there stuff is higher quality
