SONY RX100 V :: WOW!

The Sony RX100 V is the latest compact camera in the sony lineup. Building on the success of the RX100 IV, Sony has added a redesigned stacked sensor and DRAM chip. The camera now features 315 phase-detection autofocus points and supports continuous high speed shooting at up to 24 frames per second.
The RX100 series has been one of the industry standard cameras for vlogging and on the go shooting.

All about that burst!!! I'm not a big videographer BUT the biggest reason I got the RX 100V was the insanely fast 24fps burst mode! Can't wait to go to my first basketball or baseball game and really test that burst and AF speed to its full potential!

I received my RX100 MK3 today and I'm very impressed so far. I'm used to Canon, as I have a 750D DSLR, but wanted something more compact too. just getting used to the Sony interface and settings.

I got one of these after foolishly buying the Lumix LX10 and it changed my vlogging life. Intelligent Active stabilisation means I rarely have to do any post stabilising now. Pity about that mic input hey! I got a TASCAM DR-05 for that. As far as frame rate, I shoot about 0.005 photos every second, so I'm sweet...

Thanks for a good review ..... on the strength of this, I have upgraded from RX100M2 to M5. Indeed, the initial thought is a touch screen would good, but as I discovered with my A6500 - I had turn this function off ... as my nose (not a big item) kept hitting the ‘live’ screen. However, what would have been very useful is a ‘standard but multifunctional’ hot-shoe! Thus enabling photographers recording sound with 4K or HD1080p videos are able to use several accessories. To be frank, a low power built-in flash is next to useless! Having said this ..... RX100V is my constant companion! Excellent image quality, albeit a 1-inch sensor, but thanks to a top-notch Zeiss lens!

That fast shot at 24 frames is actually really cool, it seems to give a retro like effect (like screens used to be with all different pictures really fast after eachother) I think its because of the small changes in auto focus and ISO

Thanks for the review which is really well done and very informative. I'm quite new to your channel and I'm still deciding whether to invest a budget friendly amount into RX100 or go straight for Mark III which is considerably more expensive, but its image quality is highly impressive and ability to shoot fantastic pictures in low light even more encouraging as it's just that one significant aspect of a compact camera that I've been missing a lot in my Sony DSC-WX100 (yeah, I know - pretty old model). Anyways, I'm so much used to Sony that I'm sure I'd be happy with any of their recent compact cameras.

Great Video. Just talked lately to a sony rep about the heating problem on the 4k video and he told me, used the fasted SD card that you can find to help the buffer and also open the LCD screen even if it is not required for the best possible ventilation, but I did not try any test yet about this tip from him

Fantastic, very well done. I have the RX100M2 and am still very happy with it, but the improvements in AF, burst mode, etc. on the M5 make it very tempting! One thing that I do like on the M2 is the MI shoe, which lets me use a radio trigger on the camera to fire an off-camera flash. (Much better than mounting a flash on the camera that is three or four times the size of the camera itself!) My only "criticism" (and it's not really even that) of your presentation is calling the RX100 a "point and shoot", as I think "advanced compact" or some such term would be much more appropriate for a pocket camera that can be run in full manual mode. But whatever we call it, it's an incredible, carry-everywhere camera!
