If there’s no way you can compare the native 4K with the Epson version - can you make a video putting your thoughts as to why you chose the Sony 295? Obviously you chose it because it’s better.

Such an epic video man, I feelt the chills and the hype just as you did. I saving my money for this porjector too, I´m a few moths away. I getting there sooner then later :) I live in Sweden and this projector is called VPL-WV270ES. If I had the money I wholud like to buy the 695ES (in Europe 570ES) but that is just to much money for me. Nice work on the video and I will be looking forward to the mounting and installation for this awsome projector.

Just wanted again to Thank U for your help/tips and tutoring and report prayers were answered for this ol' man, yesterday I "bit da bullet" and switched my Firestick 4K connection form an HDTV HDMI IN.....to my DVD HDMI IN on my Denon AVR and WALA......worked like a charm.....and the PQ remained Superior to the same of my Nvidia Shield and it also opened up DD+, Dolby Atmos etc. which Samsung "forgot" to provide us with it's "TOP of da Line" QLED 65Q9FN!

So I was looking at the epson 5050.... watched your video then this Sony popped up. You then say just save up for the 295es.. Well I did. I’ve got 14 hrs on it from yesterday and today. Wow. Thank you for your insight. I wanted the best and I don’t think my eyes could see any better. 😉

Hi Raf, congratulations times 1000 because you did it. You are the man.... and thats why you had to do it......, right? :-))) Epson is no match for sony or jvc. 18Gbit was my main reason last year to go for the jvc 750 and now i am glad about black levels and contrast but i only have 100 inch. On your big screen native 4k should make a difference plus when u want to do gaming on it the jvc lamp costs are huge. Anyway, i am glad you did it!!!!!!!!! Gratz again

i own one in jul. aswell it is stunning how good he worked with the ps4 pro the beginning of horizon Zero dawn in hdr is breathtaking and with motionflow at high it feels like you Play in 60 fps

Just trying to improve just wondering if you have any specific settings for the unit one in cinema to I use one for HDR Blu-rays and the other one for regular

when using the HDR function I've read that 4k is too dark. can you noticeably see a difference when doing 4k hdr? Is it much darker or is it worth the upgrade from the 285? was the Epson not worth the price of 2799? why spend the extra 1200.00 for the 295?

With the German Gamma settings with high lamp mode, the HDR Is more than bright. Going to the 295 you get full 4k 60hz HDR 18gbps bandwidth. The 285 does not have this. Which Is why I upgraded to the 295 for that and native 4k resolution. 🙂👍🏽

Hey RAF how you doing? Is it possible to mount this particular projector off center from the screen? Have a column directly in the way in my basement which is right on center with the screen and want to know if I can set it off center still be able line up the picture?

It's better than the 295 as far as color and far and away in brightness. Native is not everything color and brightness is often FAR more important.

Congratulations brother i have the sony 4k SXRD VPL-VW695Es native 4k projector yours and mine has anamorphic lens and i have mine paired with my oppo 203 which is perfect for projectors that has this type of lens , oppo the only blu ray player that will turn letter box to full screen paired with an anamorphic lens , i rip all my 4k mkv , mp4 dolby vision ,and the oppo does dolby atmos through mkv i dont stream anything 100 percent picture quality files sizes are anywhere from 50g to a 100g.

Hey Raf, I gotta say you are convincing me to pull the trigger on this one over the 5050/6050UB. I love that the Sony is true 4k, how do you find the black levels on this especially while watching cinemascope films showing black bars? Would really love your advice on this as Black Friday is fast approaching here in Canada. That was my only concern with the Sony being it's contrast/blacks compared with the Epson 5050 you had. Hey North, I would say If you have a darker room you can tell the clarity difference between the 4K Image of the Sony and Epson. I will say the Epson Is brighter overall. The black levels when watching HDR on the Sony Is very good. I'm very glad I switched to the Sony.
