I wish other ammo manufacturers would get into the 22 TCM game. I'd love to see what they could do with different bullet designs! Can you hear me Buffalo Bore and Cor-Bon?
@PatriotPaulUSA4 жыл бұрын
If RIA would take the round and get it SAAMI certified I bet several gun manufacturers and ammo companies would get into making it. I do Not see that happening unfortunately. They have made themselves their own Apple like monopoly and it is by no accident I am betting. If you reload its simple to do yourself and you can buy a Lee breechlock press for under 39.00, and its actually a good USA made 1 stage press! 22TCM Dies are 32.89 a set! I already bought a pound of Accurate brand TCM powder and I have 6 different boxes of 22 bullets. I just need to go buy the pistol! I am gonna buy and reload 1000 rounds of ammo for 150.00 last (I checked before the SARS CoV-2 /Corona virus). Or I can cut down some of my .223 ammo.

This round in anything other than a hollow point will be way too lethal for civilians and they know that. The armor piercing capability is too great

I like shooting my full size double stack 22 TCM at least as much as my Kimber Ultra Carry II. It gets lots of attention at the range with the loud bark and muzzle flash. Similar to turning heads and raising eyebrows at the range with a 44 mag. FPS with a 5" barrel is just under 2100. Enough to set off tannerite and peirce light armor even as a JHP. I call it my "Glove box AR".

I held a Kimber, a STI and a Rock Island Armory 1911 in a local gun store. And to be completely honest, the easiest mag release, was on the RIA. The mags dropped free in the RIA and got stuck in the Kimber. The smoothest action was the RIA. The STI was stiff and the Kimber was jerky. I could rack the RIA with a finger pushing on the front sight. The Kimber and STI I had to really try. The STI trigger was stupid light and nice, whereas the RIA wasn’t as great. For the money and quality, I’d choose RIA all day long

Hi - Thanks for the quality of your videos. I recently got one of these and have had a blast shooting it. One of the things I found when reassembling it is that I have to gently push back the little plunger with the tip of a small polymer screw driver to get the slide stop to click back into place. Anyone else experiencing this? Hopefully over time it loosens up a bit. Love the muzzle flash when firing this thing..!

So Sootch, 3 weeks ago I bought the exact single stack you have in the video but chambered in 9mm. My question is can I buy a .22 TCM barrel and spring to convert my pistol to this caliber. I would imagine I could use the 9mm magazines providing I take out the little spacer in the mag that makes up the differance for the 9mm being shorter. Thanks for the great videos, you are a top notch gun reviewer....you really know how to keep my attention. Keep up the great work!

I’m glad I waited, I knew I wanted a ria 1911, going 9mm or 10mm originally. This 2 caliber from the factory pistol is freakin fun, and I promise grandma can shoot it, and shoot it well! The tcm round just may be the recipe to get someone who doesn’t love firearms mostly because of recoil, and general fear. Barrel and spring swap and it runs 9mm, and I decided to do something not easy to do. I haven’t cleaned it yet, just oil, I’ll let ya know when it fails lol- round count=a lot!

The round is kinda neat, but..... If you want a light grain bullet going at high velocity the .357sig is here already and established. Take RBCD ammo for one. 60gr projectile at 2410FPS and close to 800fpe. Makes every round on that table look toyish. You can also easily swap the barrel out in most 357sig for .40 or get a 9mm conversion barrel. Would be easy for TCM makers to do a 22tcm for a 357sig as well and then you'd have many more calibers to play with. I've also noticed that with Glock magazines with the 357sig round stacks batter and you end up with one more round than .40 and one less than 9mm. Just seems like velocity lovers and capacity lovers alike should just get a 357sig.

For the .22TCM to really capture a sizable market share, other pistol styles will need to come onto the market. Whether that comes from other manufacturers anteing up royalties to Armscor or that firm adapting other types may determine if this little beast develops a wider following or becomes history as did the .221 Remington Fireball of the 1960's. Would enjoy seeing it adapted to the Rock Island 3.0 revolver or a sub-compact 1911 in the size of a Sig P938. What say you?

I've been wanting to get one of the full size models for awhile. That 9mm barrel is just *begging* to be converted to 9x23. Probably need to increase the spring weight a bit though. Plus, I'm wondering what cast bullets from the Lee Bator 55 gr mold would be like reloaded for .22 TCM. I don't see a purpose for the .22 TCM in an rifle though. It doesn't really do anything that the .223 / 5.56x45 already can't do. You can get .22 TCM ballistics out of a .223 / 5.56x45 if you just load it with a bit less powder. You're not going to be getting .223 / 5.56x45 ballistics out of a .22 TCM by loading more powder though. You just don't have the room in the case for adding enough powder to increase the velocity without exceeding the pressure rating.

@sootch009 жыл бұрын
I was thinking the same thing. Here's a comment I left earlier about the advantages of the 22 TCM over the FN 5.7: FN 5.7 is $1000 plus, the RIA is $650 which includes a 9mm conversion barrel. It uses the 1911 design so parts and accessories are available and plentiful. In the new 9R cartridge it is ready made for 9mm conversion kits like the new Glock unit but can be used in the standard 22 tcm barrel. Ballistics are about the same.
@miked25435 жыл бұрын
Paul Harrel did a comparison and the .22 tcm outperformed the 5.7
