One of my fav movies! Ash makes me so emotional lol. He’s bullied at school, he looks up to his dad but he isn’t getting any validation from him (or his teachers), and it seems that he’s judged for possibly being neurodivergent. When Mr. Fox finally took responsibility and apologized to him, it made me want to cry 😭😭

When I was a child, I had a single book on cassette. Fantastic Mr. Fox. Listened to it 20 or 30 times. I'm really familiar with this story, and I think it was adapted really well. Despite all the Wes Anderson tropes, they still really captured the heart of it.

I watched this movie when I was nine and fell in love with it ever since. Not only does it look great, it expands on Roald Dahl's tale by having a theme of living up to expectations (Mr. Fox having to prove his greatness, Ash trying to fill in his father's shoes while also establishing his own identity and being compared to his peers, Kristofferson having to remain composure even if his home life is falling apart), which gives the film a relatable feeling even if most of the cast consists of talking animals. Also, I think it's great that Mr. Fox was voiced by George Clooney (of Ocean's Eleven Fame). Love to see more people giving this film some love!

This is legit my fav movie in the WORLD plus my favourite director/artist so I’m so glad you’re watching this!! Fun fact; the whole reason why they “glow” in 24:40 1:33 is because Wes Anderson was inspired by those figurines to create this movie based on the design of them!

I don't have many comfort movies, but this is one of them. The atmosphere is perfect to me. It has an all-star cast. The scenery and stop motion is visually beautiful to me, and it has an 'old-school' charm that isn't present in a lot of other modern movies. The music is spot-on and funky, and fits in very well with the story. I can rewatch it any time it's on and be completely satisfied no matter where I come into the movie.

i never read the last scene as mr fox finally feeling joy in being a father!!! maybe that’s bc i don’t have a good relationship w my dad… but anyway i like that insight a lot! bc even though he accepts (?) his identity as a dad, mr fox clearly had a lot of resentment for his domestic life, which includes fatherhood (“i’m a wild animal” “you are also a husband, and a father!”) but over the course of the movie, he gets closer to his son and finally (after 12 years) tries to understand him. which is big for the two of them. and bc of that he finally finds true peace in his life and his role as a father!!! that is so cute!!!

About Ash, he spits when he’s angry so since he’s angry like 90% of the movie he spits a lot. It’s kinda like how Mr Fox dies the whistle thing Also some people think the swirly eyes thing was to show fear since Kylie is an opposum instead of having him pass out he just like disassociates 😂 also the same thing happens to Mr Fox when he’s scared in the movie (but some people think that Kylie might just have ADHD so we don’t know)

I love this movie so much! The straightforward, matter-of-factness of the acting is a signature of Wes Anderson's directing style. He's one of the most stylistically distinct directors. All of his movies are fantastic! I highly recommend the Grand Budapest Hotel. Fun fact: during the scene where they're all hanging out and diving, the song playing on the radio is the love theme from Disney's Robin Hood.

I love the style of this film a lot. I think Wes Anderson is a unique director, and you can tell it's his work if there's something perfectly in the middle of the frame (Grand Budapest Hotel for example). I feel as though it's his signature element in his films, thus how you can tell it's his film.

Read the book! It's a different experience and the patience and the time they take to set up all the interactions between the characters is very engaging. There are fewer of them in the book and the foxes really are the main focus, but they engage the reader and make you root for the protagonists. The movie is quaint and funny and definitely engaging, I watch it every fall and it's one of the few 'Autumn' movies that has nothing to do with Halloween or Thanksgiving. But the book feels more...satisfying, I suppose? Mr. Foxes' triumphant over the farmers is more cerebral and less showy: he's not overly concerned with sticking it to the farmers and getting all the credit. He's more concerned about circumventing the circumstances of his natural handicaps (being smaller and physically incapable of challenging the farmers directly) and using his brain to quietly and effectively out-think his enemy. I don't think the farmers ever realize that he digs his way into their store-houses after they destroy his home...they just wait and wait and wait for a surrender that never comes. It's impressively restrained for a young adult book and the ending feels earned and comfortable. I highly recommend it, you can finish it in 2 hours and thoroughly enjoy yourself. 😀 Budapest Hotel is awesome but I think you'd get more out of Isle of Dogs...certainly has a meta-futurist vibe to it that tracks with Anderson's style. Great Vid!

What I really love about this movie, aside from literally everything, is that 1) Fox admits that he knows about his wife's "wild" past but doesn't bring her down for it and seems to even understand it. 2) The way he and his wife's relationship is portrayed isn't the typical "no matter what you do, I will still love you and forgive you and be on your side every step of the way". Mrs Fox does hate him for what he did and though she still loves him, no matter what, she can't forgive him and it is shown that she resents his actions. They do stay together and still love one another in the end but there was realistic tension in their relationship and it showed that there are things that even love has a tough time getting passed/accepting.

Wes Anderson is one of my all time favourite directors and all of his films are absolutely flawless. 18:33 is one of the most breathtaking and amazing shots I’ve ever seen. Seriously this movie’s cinematography and visuals are something else, it’s so ahead of its time and you have to keep in mind, this film came out in 2009. The movies we have now and that are being released almost 15 years later can’t even hold a candle to this, the visuals in films now, are garbage, I feel that filmmaking has gotten lazy and that’s really, really sad because I love film so much. The reason I love this film in particular is because of how perfect it is made and put together. If a film such as this, cannot make you feel happy or sad or shocked, even have you on the edge of your seat, then it is not a good movie. The amount of time and effort that went into this project is insane and it payed off. I will take quality over quantity any day of the week.

This was so good I personally enjoyed this even more than the book, especially with all the bright colorful old school stop-motion animation. While the book had all the cool classic Roald Dahl elements, all those ugly freaky faces drawn in black and white without the interesting running dialogue this movie offered. - Made it a little intense in some parts.
