You are so right about many designer items not meant for anyone varying from the norm. I am long waisted, so the waist on most dresses has the effect of an empire waist on me. The few dresses I have are loose, tent-like things that I cinch with a fancy belt. If one has a larger bustline, one might as well go for pullover tops to go with skirt or slacks, rather than risk the buttoned front popping open.

Concerning the sticky table: That's usually due to the lacquer on the wood having disintigrated over time. I've noticed this in a lot in restaurants and I'd assume it's because restaurant tables get cleaned a lot and the moisture+cleaning agents destroy the chemical integrity of the lacquer and thus, soften it up and make it sticky. (Kinda like your nail polish gets sticky while you remove it.)
