Jackie is forgetting that: 1. When Tony and Jackie Sr took down the card game their father and uncle were not only part of the family but alive at the time unlike his. Obviously they would run interference with for them because no one's wacking a made guy's son without repercussions. 2. They didn't shoot and kill any made guys or connected people. 3. She was a hewa

maybe? Jackie Jr was a lot less popular I imagine compared to tony and Jackie Sr, remember Tony and company had a lot more backers like Richie Aprile, and Junior Soprano (weird right?) and I don't remember the dates but I think Tony's dad was also still alive, these guys were likely much closer then Jackie Jr is with any of the capos of today, remember Jackie Jr has basically burnt his bridges with Tony and they are robbing RALPH'S CARDGAME, not some other capo who they have no relation to, Ralph has far less reason to care for them then Tony's friends had to care for him. The fact that Jackie Jr's biggest ally was Ralph and they're only connection was he was fucking his mom meant that this probably wouldn't have worked out no matter how it happened

Jackie Jr is a sad story. Not just because he was stupid, but he shows more affection to his father after his passing than when he was alive. I suspect this is the case with most father/son relationships. If your Father is still alive and showed you fatherly love, be thankful for the time you still have with him. If he’s passed on, he’s still with you and don’t be afraid to talk to him. He’s most likely still looking out for you. God bless.

Jackie Jr. was a great example of how the entire Mafia culture corrupts from father to son. His whole arc after his father's death was shaped by the negative influence that criminal father figure after criminal father figure - from Ritchie, to Ralph to Christopher - had upon his maturation into adulthood. Nevertheless I'm shocked that Jackie Aprile and Anthony Soprano weren't reprimanded punished or even whacked by Feech La Manna for robbing a made guy's game. They made the threat to kill to take money right. I think the 1 very Important factor that Ralph didn't mention was that Jackie & Tony had Johnny Boy Soprano, Corrado Junior Soprano, & Richie Aprile representing them and this implicitly guranteed Jackie&Tony immunity, giving them untouchable status long before having their stripes. The only ones who didn't partake in the robbery were Ralph Ciffaretto and Silvio Dante. Both men from what we know didn't have brothers or fathers or family members with stripes. That's why Silvio and Ralph didn't partake in the robbery because if shit hit the fan and one of them ended up shooting someone they would get capped and if it went smoothly they didnt have the protection that Jackie & Tony had and they woukd certainly be hunted and get at least a pretty bad beatdown for partaking.
@billymarino44524 жыл бұрын
I may be over analyzing things but I always assumed Silvio was the getaway driver. You can't pull a scheme like that and NOT have a set of wheels and someone in the driver's seat ready to get you away. If that's the case, he technically was involved but didn't carry a piece. Maybe that's why Ralph didn't bother to mention him in his story.

Ralph was smart not to participate in that robbery. Tony had his father, uncle and Dickie all made guys and heavyweights, nobody would have touched him. Jackie had his brother Richie in the life he would've come out and speak for him. I'm not sure what connections Silvio had but he was already around Paulie and Tony's relatives so that must carry some weight. Ralphie had nobody. Feech would've made an example out of him.

Clearly the actors playing Sil, Paukie, and Pussy were 10+ years older than Gandolfini. The original show sort of implied these guys were vaguely the same age, and way back when viewers just sort of accepted casting and story oddities with an "okay, fine then." But by the time we get to stuff made after 2010, post Cinemasins, producers are self conscious about hecklers who are going to watch these things anyway. Writers rethink and overthink details to stem off people who point out discrepancies in old movies and shows.

I get the feeling this was like a master stroke deception by Ralphie. First he hears Jackie Jr. talking about how great Chris is, who's trying to scalp him from Ralph's crew, and then he offhand mentions a story Jackie can't resist. Then he starts going off about how his Dad got made for doing something that frankly sounds improbable. How would ripping off a made guy make you? How would you even be able to arrange sitdowns with a small crew nobody cared about without walking into a trap? It doesn't sound right, but to dumbass Jackie Jr. it sounds inspiring and cool. Remember this is the kid who plays Scrabble words like "ass" and "poo." Ralphie couldn't have probably dreamed how beautifully this little act of manipulation would pay off. Not only would Jackie Jr. get himself killed, Ralphie would be the one who got to make the order. Ralph knows Jackie thinks he's a loser old man so he plays up the loser card to convince him he's nothing to worry about, too. The stars kinda aligned on that one.

I always thought that Ralph was lying about being sick. Think about it from Ralph's perspective. Feech was going to be so mad and embarrassed that he got robbed that he would want blood. For sure, nothing would happen to Tony and Jackie Sr on account of their family connection. So the blame would fall and him and Silvio. To my knowledge, neither had a family member who was a made guy. So he probably thought why risk it.

This scene right here, blows Many Saints of Newark apart, and not in a good way. 1. He lists himself, Jackie Aprile Sr, Tony, and Silvio, as running their own crew as kids, doing small scores. In the movie, Silvio is at least 10-15 years older than Tony, with Pussy and Paulie all there in the real Soprano crew already, and around the same age as well. 2. With Silvio being in the real Soprano family already like the movie suggests, adding onto his age problem like I mentioned, and how he treats Tony the night Dickie is wacked, and how he acts, that version of Silvio would never be running scores on pot and other things, with three kid/teenagers who were not made. 3. Also with being kids / teenagers, when is this Feech story supposed to happen? Five minutes after Many Saints? Tony was already almost out of high school by the end of the film, this story should have already happened, and the appearance in the show was that Tony was already in the family proper when Dickie is killed. 4. She was a who-ah
@trer242 жыл бұрын
I think Silvio is in his early 20s in MSoN, so maybe only 5-6 years older than Tony. That is a big difference when you’re a teenager… but not so much as you get older. Say Tony, Ralphie, Jackie Sr, were 21…Silvio is only 26-27…they could still be in the same crew. Paulie is most definitely 10+ years older than Tony and he’s in his crew. Plus, “‘kid” is throw around and doesn’t always mean literal kid. Phil Leotardo calls his 47 year old brother, Billy, a “kid”. MSoN did have some issues, but I don’t think Silvio’s age was one of them. Plus in real life, Steven Van Zandt was 10 years older than James Gandolfini and also was bald in real life…
@BazingaBeatlesClan2 жыл бұрын
@@trer24 I get that, but in the show, it is established that him and Tony are almost the same age, went to school together, and he says "I have known you since you were a kid Ton". They have Tony as 13 then 18 in MSoN. This story makes it sound like they all got in together, Silvio is made already when Tony is 13.
