IrishCarney that’s not necessarily a bad thing though. any actor needs a great director, and Chase was superb at casting people with limited acting ability in roles which didn’t really require them to act, just be themselves; a lot of megastars fall into this category of actor, like Robert Downey Jr or Anthony Hopkins. they actually don’t have much range but they’re so iconic that they have roles written with them in mind, and they kill it because they’re so charismatic. having said that, i tend to much prefer a genius like James or Edie, who bring such depth to their characters that it elevates anything they appear in, and when they’re paired with each other and someone like David Chase they create moments of real profundity.

I'm not sure if he was going for "douchebag" (as an actor), or he was playing a role and "douchebag" was the outcome, but, if there was a douchebag category in the Oscars he'd take it.

@@dsandoval9396 You might have to consider the writers' and director's intentions here too.Actors don't get to choose that stuff .They try to act the role they are given.

Jackie should've gotten into real estate and married Meadow. That way he could easily relocate based on where she landed a job and have a career where he could do morally grey things and use his connections.

It's so amazing how Tony does this I'm the good guy thing all while lying and misleading someone multiple times in a single conversation... It's amazing

Actually the character Tony is the good guy. I don't know what you're talking about
@SankofaNYC2 жыл бұрын
@@MVP527 if you think Tony is a good guy, then all of the more thoughtful elements of the show passed you by and you are like a example of the social critique being made. You are meant to root for him, but you are suppose to question why, and realize even if you like him, he isn’t a good guy. He is a lying, racist, murdering, gambling, cheating, philandering, sociopath! All of the good guys in this show are his victims. He is literally lying in this very scene, totally messing with this kid. He is not the good guy bro

Very surprised that tarantino or scorsese never wanted to work with Gandolfini. Would have been immense with the right casting which is what these two directors are excellent at. Or maybe if he was still alive he would have. Who knows. R. I. P Gandolfini
