Somehow, this is the scariest bomb footage. The ugly film grain, the Twilight, and the colossal amount of dust make it.

Keep in mind that most of the surface material that is sucked up into the cloud combined with the fission products, unfissioned bomb fuels such as plutonium-239 and the neutron activation products, to form fallout particles that can fallout thousands of miles downwind. The explosive waste products are similar to the highly radioactive spent nuclear fuel (SNF) that is routinely discharged from fission reactor power plants. The containment standards, for SNF and nuclear explosion emitted debris, is radically different.

@@Tekknorg - Good point. The use of nuclear explosives, for weapons of war, or for so called peaceful applications, still results in a uncontrolled to porely controlled release of hazardous radionuclides. You might be overlooking some of the widely employed uses of radionuclides in numerous industries, including nuclear medicine.

JOE-4 was their first airborne deliverable nuclear warhead. Estimated yield:125-300KT. Test Yield: 400KT. Using the Sloika (Layer Cake) design, the weapon was a 2 stage Hydrogen, or "super bomb". This design is similar to the "Alarm Clock" design conceived by Edward Teller, bu the Soviet's were not aware of it. But this was a "dead end" design that could not be scaled to megaton range, but the Soviet diplomats used it as leverage. They shifted their research and designed the RDS-37, their first "true" hydrogen device, which was tested on 22 November, 1955. By that time, the US had already tested 3 stage "true" hydrogen weapons in the IVY and CASTLE series, surpassing the Soviets in the atomic weapons race.
@Sciolist
@Sciolist Жыл бұрын
There is little evidence that Teller concived "Alarm Clock" as he claims. He later claimed that he hit upon the same idea but discarded it because it was a "dead end" design But then again, Teller claims lot of credit for things he had little to do with, most famously denying that Stanislaw Ulam contributed anything to discover of staging as a way to achieve fusion. And I should repeat, though repeated by Americans as an article of faith, Sloika was not a dead end design. Development of Sloika concept gave Soviet a lead in development in lithium enrichment and doping of it with deuterium & tritium (remember ivy mike used liquid deuterium and castle bravo used partially enriched lithium because Americans were late in the game of lithium enrichment) Sloika concept also gave Soviet better understanding of compression route to fusion. Something Ulam showed that better way attaining fusion unlike Teller idea of igniting fusion reaction by heat alone (classical super concept). Sloika was a potent design (400 KT is not something that can be ignored) which gave Soviets a weapon that could be fielded immediately unlike ivy mike and it was available to Soviets before castle bravo. What Soviets realised that Sloika concepts layered pit was not able to achieve its full potential because conventional explosive used to compress it and start fusion reaction were a very suboptimal solution. They were racking there brains to find better way of compressing Sloika pit when sakharov hit upon the idea of using another fission bomb to compress multilayered Sloika pit. Basically a staged Thermonuclear bomb, like what Stanislaw Ulam concived. Sloika was not a dead end by any means but a very important intermediate step towards staged thermonuclear bombs. That's why I'm very dubious about the claim of Edward Teller "discovered" Alarm Clock.

I understand you want to protect your work, but my goodness that watermark is incredibely annoying. It's placed right in the middle of the shot and completely ruins the power feeling of the film and music (which is great btw). I just wish you would put your watermark in a corner and to not cover and part of the explosion. Also, this kind of watermark placement may stop lazy TikTok and Facebook people from easily stealing your video without attribution, but someone with even basic Adobe Premier or video editing skills could easily remove the watermark. Anyway, still thanks for the film. Just wish it wasn't ruined by that watermark.

Look at the rising smoke column. You can see evil faces. Once you see it you cannot unsee it
@MaddogJones
@MaddogJones Жыл бұрын
It's called "Pariedolia" is a psychological trait of imposing meaningful interpretation on a random or vague object or sounds, more often visual. The observer perceives familiar objects such as faces where there are none. Like Jesus Christ or the Virgin Mary in burnt toast, or faces "evil" or not in a smoke column. this is an evolutionary trait that is used to decern a threat that may be hidden within a random pattern such as a predator hiding in dense foliage. It's much safer to percieve a face that is not there then to miss the face that is there and do you harm. This phenomenon is exacerbated by deep religious or cultural beliefs and may compound deeply held biases.
