Take everything into account before you cast judgement on a person, and especially before you try to lump an entire group of people together like that. Shame on you.

Sandra Morris elaborate please ..??
@sandicmxr6 жыл бұрын
londonsburningup instead of turning toward people who know what he’s going through he turns away. They try to comfort him and he won’t accept it. It shows that it’s hard for him to be close - to get that hug. To be comforted. In my saying that I mean it shows he’s had a traumatic event(s) that turned him off of accepting that comfort. I’m not saying he’s cold or anything like that. More that he can depend only on himself and no one else. I find that sad. That’s what I see. That’s what I meant.
@UsernamesForDummies6 жыл бұрын
Sandra Morris I think it was embarrassment that made him turn away. After all, he was on camera and I doubt he has ever cried about his loss in front of people.
@sandicmxr6 жыл бұрын
UsernamesForDummies I agree a little. He never talked like this before as he heard it from them and yes maybe some was embarrassment but from a few I know who won’t take hug, comfort, etc it’s what they do too. Remember he didn’t walk away. He didn’t turn from the camera. He turned from them. I’m saying this not as judgement. My heart was torn. He was like a child in that moment. I’ve know a few who just won’t take any comfort from anyone. From those I know it’s because they are the only ones they can depend on from an early age. I understand. It just makes me sad.
@ellmonroe36646 жыл бұрын
That is very insightful. I have seen that sort of behaviour and you helped me realize what is probably is. They don,t want to be seen as vulnerable.
@dabrichard3 жыл бұрын
If Mr Stanbury ever reads this, I want him to know that his case is textbook childhood trauma. It is not an excuse, but it is an explanation of how this happened. Dr. Gabor Mate’ from Canada has youtube videos about this issue. Aggression is a coping mechanism to threat and we all need that impulse to survive. When we suffer the kind of loss he did at age 10, the world instantly becomes unpredictable and dangerous. The brain of a ten year old is overwhelmed by this level of trauma and we unconsciously cope which becomes expressed in a number of behaviors. Children who experience trauma need advocates like you, Mr. Stanbury, to bring awareness to the public, social workers and judges. I am so happy you have a loving family. I pray the police officer finds peace.

It's hard to really tell what people's true intentions are when they publicise they're apologies, especially when they promote their music within it, but since there's no way to read this man's mind, I'm going to give him the benefit of the doubt this all is coming from a good place. I think more people like him deserve that. Maybe if people showed a little more hope in them, even more would turn their life around. Still very brave of him to see his victim face to face and try to apologise. He seems like he's trying very hard to understand where the man is coming from and make amends even though the guy turned down seeing him. I commend the policeman too. You can tell the whole thing still weighs heavy on him, and he could've been so nasty in his response, but he did try to somewhat meet on a middle ground and be as understanding as he could. Hopefully one day they will meet face to face, and they both will receive total closure.

I'm a retired psychiatric technician/nurse who worked maximum security forensic psych. In one of the largest facilities in the United States. With Sexually Violent Predators, mass murderers, serial Killers and murderers of all kinds. This sort of program is SO important for those who can be repatriated to society, because some can. Some are just too violent and mentally ill, and need to stay inside the walls, but there are some who can benefit. And their victims can benefit as well, if that is a choice they want to make. I'm retired after an assault causing a brain injury at work, i have no judgment or anger for the man who assaulted me, but it takes time and work to move forward. I believe that reparative/restorative justice can work.

Touching short life story. Sincereli I hope and wish him well to endeavor all his future prospects. It was and is good to see he has kept the option open to make contact with the officer who has gone through a turbulent time regards. For anyone to come out of prison and try to do well always a good sign , the only important factor is not to give in to temptation. Life goes on as we all say Stana went through a lot regards his personal life nevertheless not making no excuses for him ,alas only his mum and dad were here to see the change, perhaps they are looking down from the heavens. Stana keep on going and do not give up , remember you have people/family who care about you. To all those families who have their loved ones in pen -please do not give up on them especially when they are still young and growing simply they deserve another chance-a bite at the cherry.
