The movie would've been rated NC-17 instead of R if it had 400 swears or more. So Trey and Matt put in exactly 399.😂 It once held the record for most swears in any film.

Wolf of Wall Street topped that number solely upon 'F-Words', *_and_* also had n*dity, had copious dr*g use, etc. Somehow, _that_ skirted by with an R-rating, but the cartoon movie was being pushed to be NC-17. The MPAA and FCC exist in a state of absurdity. The only thing that to me would even remotely justify the difference is the g*re with Kenny in the hospital scene right before Hell, and it's not even that bad since it's animated. They put worse things on regular TV nowadays that _anyone_ can watch at a given time.

Fun fact, this was originally intended by Trey and Matt as the grand finale of South Park as they believed the film wouldn't be sucessful enough. They were honestly surprised that it became a huge hit and the show still runs to this day. Either way, this movie would've been one heck of a way to cap off South Park.

I like the story I read about Brian seeing himself in the movie and the impression it had on him. When he first heard about it, he watched the movie expecting the worst, but ended up finding it really surreal and amusing. Then one day he visited his nephew's school and learned kids knew who he was because of the movie. Thinking about it, he realized he had won an Olympic medal over a decade ago in 1988; there's no reason for anyone to remember who he is. Yet a generation of kids who probably weren't even born at the time all know. Edit: Correct grammar

The circumstances behind Williams' performing, though, are a bit tragic- Mary Kay Bergman, who voiced a lot of the female characters on the show, suffered from severe depression and anxiety and took her own life a few months after the movie was released. Williams, who was a friend of Bergman, offered to sing in her stead at the Awards ceremony (and in another twist of fate, suffered from a similar mix of anxiety and depression that led to his death in 2014)

Firstly, you asked so Kenny's voice is literally just either Trey or Matt (can't recall which) cupping his hand over his mouth; however, all of Kenny's lines are written and scripted including the intro songs and Kenny's lines are the most inappropriately hilarious bits as you'd expect from a character no one can understand. Secondly, I recommend the superhero special that South Park did. It's just a series of episodes rather than a movie but it's something that continues to fascinate me.

To add to that, the one exception to Matt voicing Kenny in this movie is from Beavis and Butt-Head/King of the Hill creator Mike Judge, who lends his voice behind "goodbye you guys" at the face reveal. It's been fun going back through the show, especially the opening credits from the first 10 seasons, trying to make out what Kenny is singing. It's far filthier than my mind could come up with when I first heard them lol

It truly is a great movie. I love it more every time I watch it. It's crazy to think this was supposed to be South Park at its peak, basically a kind of grand finale. Trey and Matt admit they expected that the movie was as big as South Park was ever going to get, and that they didn't think the series itself would last much longer either. Yet here we are today. Butters and Randy Marsh, now main characters and huge fan favorites, are barely even in the movie and don't even have the same well established personalities and backstories that they have now. This was even before Timmy and Jimmy, and before Tolkien had a speaking role (though he is in the movie)! It's really old, and yet it still just feels like pure South Park.

You might say it in the reaction, but Trey Parker, Robert Lopez, and Matt Stone (Parker & Stone created South Park) wrote The Book of Mormon for Broadway and it ended up winning 9 Tony Awards in 2011. The medium they use is crazy, but they are absolutely goated. The song "Blame Canada" was nominated for a Grammy and got beat out by "You'll Be in My Heart" by Phil Collins from Tarzan. The fact that they make fun of parents for not paying attention to what media their kids absorb and you had parents walking out of theaters because they found out it wasn't a true children's film. Then people were complaining online when it was the parent's fault. The meta in the commentary in this movie is so good. In the movie, parents are walking out and that's the same time when other parents started walking out in real life.

I believe in a interview with Trey and Mat they talked about how they used actually construction paper on the first original South Park underground cartoon "The Spirit Of Christmas" that played at animation movie type film festivals. They realized quickly that this wasn't going to be sustainable if they wanted to pitch a regularly scripted show. From then on they have only been using pc-cgi to create the episodes and just kept the look and style of the construction paper to make the animations easier to execute.

The Barbara Streisand joke was because of the fact that the creators of South Park truly hate her. And the reason why they hate her is because of something she did in the 90s when she visited there home state of Colorado. The state had passed an anti gay law and because of that Streisand boycotted the state and its citizens calling them a bunch of hicks & promised that she would never visit the state again. The only episode that was made using only construction paper is the pilot and some of season 1. The are cut out figures but they are moved around digitally. It would take years to make a season using paper, the pilot alone took 6 months.

"Two tickets to see Asses of Fire please!..." "No!" 😂 The baby on the ladies face was a character in season 2. She was the school nurse for a while. Conjoined fetus lady. There was a episode of her. The kick the baby gag was from episode 1. And Big Gay Al was also from season 1.

Most importantly, you must react to the South Park memo. I personally like the Jack Whitehall reading. Second, Charles Carter is a classical American composer and arranger who lived from 1928 to 1999. The last thing he ever composed was an arrangement of "What Would Brian Boitano Do?" for the FSU Marching Chiefs (that I was in). The director of the Marching Chiefs told us he picked that song because it was the only song he could find in the movie that wouldn't shock the 70 year old Charlie too badly. Our first halftime show of the year (featuring summer hits of 1999) had All Star from Smash Mouth, What Would Brian Boitano Do from South Park, and I Want It That Way.

I have the soundtrack on vinyl. Its pretty sweet actually. It has one of those holographic covers that changes slightly based on what angle you look at it. It has a red record and an orange record that you can see behind two cutouts shaped as cartman and kenny (i believe you can get a green/blue kyle and stan version too). When you open it up it has a big pop up art of Terrence and phillip like those old pop out story books from when we were kids. And it has something like a 30 page color booklet inside too

Fun story: i saw this movie in theatres with my dad. i was in about the fifth or sixth grade. Back when there was no openly available internet, and almost no cussing on tv at all. I somehow managed to convince my father to take me to see this movie. He originally banned me from watching the show. We eventually bonded over it, and he took me. But he would not stop reminding me to not tell anyone that i saw this film. I promised wholeheartedly. And immediately broke that promise the next day. I unleasehed every new word and phrase id kearned amongst peers. I had no idea what i was saying. But i got biiig reactions. Guess who got sent home early that day. Took me a few years to realize, i kinda lived out a bit of this movies plot 😂
