Pineapple contains an enzyme "bromelain" that dissolves protein. As processed cheese is in essence an emulsion of fat, protein and water, the pineapple juice will react with it, the acidity of the pineapple futhering the curdling even more. Fun fact for Jamie, boiling pineapple with chili removes this effect for icecream making, as the capsaicin reacts with the bromelain.

Actually I believe just cooking the pineapple disables the bromelaine, tinned pineapple for sure doesn't have any

Heating the pineapple deactivates the enzyme and that way curdling does not occur - also the acidity of the pineapple isn’t enough to curdle the milk, the enzymes do it

@@satansbarman Yes, but in that case you have to cook it for a longer time. In the case for icecream making it's cooked in a sugar syrup for a shorter time and then blitzed for the process of making the ice cream. That way the chili has the wanted effect on the enzyme and you do not lose taste or colour. The same goes for making set gelatine with pineapple.

He hasn’t reacted to the videos yet. For the first one, he ‘went to holiday’ and this second one, he was not needed as he didn’t participate on the original video. I think he will be an extreme: either super polite and empathic of the shenanigans, or, he will be absolutely savage. No in between. Here’s hoping James run out of excuses and do a reaction video!

Heres a pass it on idea. BURGER Each one makes an individual part of the burger from scratch 1 - Bun 2 - Sauce 3 - Burger patty 1 4 - Side 5 - assembly The catch, None of them are allowed to know what the others are making (ingredient/flavor-wise). Ben would know Jamie is making the bun, and Jamie would know Ben is making the sauce, but they won't know the flavor combinations XD.

Recently someone commented about determining order by dice roll but I just thought wouldn't it be fun to also determine ingredients that way? Like make 6 plates with six different ingredients on them (all "random"). Then before the clock starts everyone gets to roll for ingredients once. Two rolls with a d6. first roll to determine which plate and the second to determine which ingredient from that plate. If somehow two chances result in the same ingredient you get to roll again. Then the person who goes first gts an additional 2 ingredients determined the same way. The second person gets one more ingredient. After that only the essentials like herbs and like vinegair, oil/butter and (maybe) milk are allowed. It could result in quite a challenge and it would force you away from your greatest downfall: Everyone feels like they need to add ingredients even when it is not necessary. So this way the "unlocked" ingredients get noted down on a piece of paper, everyone knows which ingredients they are allowed to use and it's a wonderful chaotic challenge!

Love this!! Absolutely do this for each the Pass it On series going foreward!! Make available a wipe board but no words or letters can be used! They are only allowed to draw pictures for a "note" for the next person. Either adding to the first pic. or wiping it clean and drawing something different. It can denote a pic of the "end goal" or the next desired step ... while their time is ticking, of course.

Video idea: who knows me best-ish. Someone for example Barry is the first person, he picks out the ingredients and makes a dish. However long he takes is the time the others get, they are all presented with Barry's ingredients + a few extra. They all get the allocated time to make what they think Barry will have made with the ingredients. At the end they all see all of the dishes, whoever is closest to what Barry made (taste, appearance etc) wins. It could be a 5 part series with each one of them being the first on an episode.

@@tomaszguzik9018 Dunno what happened to the mushrooms but the onions are there. You can see Jamie adding them on top of the pineapple just before the whole thing topples. It's easy to miss them, since they are only shown once and never mentioned again after Jamie leaves them to cook.

I was not expecting two videos today and it made me so very happy! So thank you very much for doing it. ^_^ Like you mentioned it was a bunch of smaller mistakes that started piling up but you all tried real good. I think it's easy to forget when watching the sequence on a screen the way we do that 10 minutes is a very short time in a kitchen when there's multiple things to do/keep track of *all whilst interacting with/talking to the camera* . So kudos to all four of you even though things didn't quite go as planned this time around.

Okay, lets think positive thoughts. Like.. Mike certainly had to un-redeem himself after his last great cooking, Barry needed to come back to status quo that nothing of his ever get's used and Jamie needed to show that he has good ideas, that will never be executed right thanks to the others. SORTED Challenge James and mike have to go out into the woods and make a meal only using food they foraged from the forest(allowed to use any kitchen appliance) while Ben and Barry can buy food from the super market or use what they have around but are not allowed to use any heat at the end of 3h Jamie will Judge the dishes and claim a winner while the looser has some sort of punishment

They will only find berries, edible plants/flowers, nuts, and some veg. And the amount of time to harvest will vary cause they have to find it and quantity will vary. Also, they would have to have the knowledge to do this. James is a chef but he may not know all the edible plants in the area or how to prepare them properly then again he might. Also depending on where they go, they will have to make sure the land isn't owned by anyone... there are laws in place about foraging (I go hiking and camping a lot so I know my local laws. I advise the boys to do the same if they go through with this idea). I'm not against this challenge I just want the boys to be safe, have fun and not get into legal trouble. There's a lot of planning to do when it comes to something like this.
