I loved this episode. Laurie was so cheerful, easy to follow and ;encouraging to our hapless boys. Said boys did an amazing job. They used their imagination and both had beautiful results. I can't believe how many tips and tricks I learned just by watching 2 people with my level of cake decorating experience take on this challenge.

You guys did amazing but Laurie is really the star with her instructions and great laugh! I would love to see you do one of these videos with Sohla and Ham El-Waylli. They had a series where they were given a mystery ingredient and had to do a full course meal, including dessert, featuring the ingredient. It was everything from coffee to peanut butter to a snack item. They’re definitely on your wave length of world flavors, improv and no food waste.

From my experience, I find it easier to cover by put the icing inside a piping bag and make a horizontal tubes of icing. Not only it ensures the cake won't be wonky, it also saves a ton of icing. Also if the buttercream icing didn't come neatly, you can always heat the knife and scraper to help it smooth out.
