vegetables can be perfectly kept open in the fridge. They stay nice just as long as in plastic. My family is completely self sustained when it comes to vegetables. Its all home grown and basically nothing goes in plastic. Just put it in the fridge drawer as is. The only situation where we would use cling film is when whe have cut of something off say a cabbage etc to keep the rest from going brown or moldy. otherwise zero plastic required. Same for meat when you are about to use it anyway in 1-2 days (if not just freeze it). and wrapping the cheese etc in paper is more sustainable and keeps it just as fresh.

I was under the impression that this was more of excessivism (it’s not a word but I’m saying it anyways) displayed by Utah moms in particular who seem to have gigantic houses and are constantly buying new things to make their home “aesthetic”

I think Ben was trolling Barry there :D

fridge-scaping is unbearably cringe, the reasoning is terrible, had to skip it lol

It was good to try, but definitely not for us.

Totally missed a trick with not having Barry's fridge pre-scaped, just for his reaction alone.

I love my pickles and even eat sliced pickles with vanilla ice cream. I eat ham, sliced gherkin, pickled egg and ready salted crisps in my sandwiches too.

Fridgescaping is 1,000% a single person thing. lol As the only one with professional kitchen experience in a house of 5, I'm CONSTANTLY playing refrigerator Tetris just trying to fit everything in, in a practical way.

Calling it refrigerator Tetris is 100% going to motivate me more to work on my "fridge aesthetics" than whatever that trend was supposed to be xD

Fridgescaping is the best of both worlds: Jamie causes chaos and Ben starts redoing Barry’s kitchen

Also complete nonsense, but hey, it's fun.

Watching Barry look increasingly more defeated with each cut of the fridgescaping bit is pure art.

also my trick to stay on top of leftovers (the rest I can use my eyes, nose, taste, and dates on packages) is I have a re-writable sheet on the fridge where I write "veggie medley - Sun Nov 3rd" and then the next line the next thing, and so on. Easier to not get sick and also avoid food waste, cause I can plan on throwing things in the freezer if I didn't eat them as planned.
@YaaLFH15 сағат бұрын
I have this for my freezer. BTW you can use a dry erase marker to write directly on the fridge!

Interesting. I like the grating frozen fruit, you could get quite creative with that. I already make savoury vegetable ice-creams like beetroot za'atar to go with summer salads, & I'm not above putting frozen peas into a salad just before serving. (I'll happily eat frozen peas as a snack anyway). But a tomato snow on hummus or frozen horseradish on sour cream could be fun. 🍅🥕

Can feel the anger of Barry when doing the fridgescaping 🤣🤣

The frozen fruit gave me an idea! Back in the day, for the first lava cake battle, Jamie made a cinnamon ice cream that sounded delicious. Imagine that, with some apple grated over it and some sweet crumble or bits of pastry. Apple pie ice cream!
