Love how he actually explains all the choices and uses a constant criteria. A lot of people just sort them based off vibes but this makes much more sense. Also as a slytherin it’s nice to see good guys put in slytherin and get an actual explanation about why villains are sorted there instead of it just being “they’re evil so slytherin”. Also like how he didn’t automatically put powerful characters in griffindor and gave hufflepuff a lot of credit

@@Bilaldane I just thaught of that too and it reminded me of season 2 ep. 9. Where Toph teaches Aang earthbending. During this episode Iroh breaks down for Zuko the unique traits of each of the four elements' nations. You can build on that along with what we've learnt through out the show.

I was thinking the same thing, then my brain kept me awake and figured out what benders a decent amount of HP characters would be, I also took non-bender, blood-bending, lava/metal bending and how air benders can literally suck the air from your lungs into play.

I agree with all of them. But I think Aang can also be sorted in Hufflepuff. He's so kind and always put others before himself, he's hardworking and you can see that on how he was the only avatar who learn all the other elements in a year and being 12 years old (we know even if he had 112, he was still 12) and that shows how dedicated he is. He was more patient than a kid his age could be. He was incredible loyal to all his friends. And always went with fair-play. We know he could have killed so many but he wanted to do the right thing. He values life before anything else. With this I think he maybe a hybrid between those two houses. He also could be a Divergent, having the qualities of all of the houses, more or less.

Same with Kyoshi. She showed bravery standing up to a horrible tyrant, and the courage to do what is necessary to protect her people. I don't like how he indicated in the video that she did that for self-preservation.

Toph is definitely Gryffindor. She never sat down determined to learn earth bending or discover metal bending, but her brashness and nerve led her into the situations that required her to do so. She was basically too stubborn to lose

Hey Morgan, to list some characters you didn’t mention, here’s my take on them: Jinora - Ravenclaw: She embodies the traits of intelligence & curiosity with her love of gaining knowledge through reading, creativity & wit through her figuring out how to cross into the Spirit World & how to perform astral projection on her own & using it to help out her friends when they’re in a bind. Ikki - Hufflepuff: Ikki develops loyal bonds to people rather quickly & this was further developed in season 4 once she settles out of her hyper activeness. She was also a hard worker, even with her overexcited nature. Meelo - Slytherin: Even as a little kid Meelo was ambitious in his airbending abilities & this continues in season 4 as he arrogantly asked to receive his tattoos at age 9 😆. He also used his airbending in resourceful ways via fartbending! Suyin - Slytherin: Suyin tried many different things throughout her life and her desires & ambitions led her to create her own sprawling metal metropolis of Zaofu, also demonstrating her leadership. She’s also cunning in her attempted plans to overtake the Red Lotus & Kuvira. Opal - Hufflepuff: A lot of Opal’s characteristics are defined by her morals & loyalty to her family. She believed in hard work, fair play & honesty to a fault but this also led her to treat others harshly who didn’t always follow this code of conduct such as Bolin & Kuvira.

sokka imo would fall into slytherin. he's definitely very cunning as his plans are usually pretty sneaky. he also has a great sense for leadership, seeing as how he took the role of leader in the day of the black sun, and for sure has a lot of ambition. sure self preservation isnt always appropriate for him, but especially in the early episodes, Sokka very much didnt care about anyone, as he didnt even want to help Aang out at first. and for resourcefulness i just need one word: boomerang

Disagree strongly - cunning and sneaky are not the same thing. He has good leadership qualities but would lay his life on the line for his friends and family, which makes the self-preservation lacking hard. I think he was sorted properly

I think Aang is much more of a Hufflepuff, yes he’s intelligent and yes he’s curious. But he’s very kind, not even wanting to kill Ozai despite all he’s done. He was literally the only Avatar who wouldn’t have killed Ozai as all the others told him to do what was necessary. Aang is also very loyal to his friends and will protect them at all costs. He’s not very hardworking which is probably what made you choose Ravenclaw instead but I think it’s like Harry where He has more traits of one house but the few traits he has of a different house are what define him as a character therefore making him of the house where he shares less traits

I thought that was a cool psychological dilemma that Aang had, what with avoiding the fire lords execution. But when many of the battles clearly showed that 12 year old boy crushing warships with title waves sinking pirates into the ground, it's obvious that he inflicted casualties. His kill count is probably very high.

Iroh is a Ravenclaw. Gryffindors have one major flaw : pride, whereas Iroh is the most humble character of the show. He is also the wisest, each of his lines to Zuko are pure wisdom, and curious, roaming in the world, learning from the people, and this knowledge he gained allowed him to create, like Toph, a new bending technique, redirecting lighting.

My philosophy would be which House does each form of bending connect with the most. Fire-Slytherin. It sounds cliche with the whole "Slytherins are evil" trope, but when you think about the passion, drive, and ambition that fuels fire bending, there are a few connections to the emerald and silver. Air-Ravenclaw. The air nomads were creative and intelligent, unwilling to be grounded, and according to Iroh, had pretty good senses of humor, which fit the bill for wit. Earth-Gryffindor. Brave, uncompromising, proud, like Toph says, Earthbenders face the element head on, no tricks. Water-Hufflepuff. Not the best explanation, but their sense of loyalty, hard work and community stick out the most to me. Obviously, this isn't a perfect theory, and not every fire bender could be Slytherin, nor every Earthbender a Gryffindor, but it's the best explanation I've got. Your opinion could be very different from mine.

This was a great video. It was a fun idea, and I had a lot of fun watching. I agree with almost all of your picks. I think Toph should've been in Slytherin because she's show a lot of self-preservation and resourcefulness in learning from the badgernoles, creating metalbending, and for all the crimes she almost got away with in that one village. I also think Avatar Kuruk should've been in Gryffindor. Battling the dark spirits at the cost of his own life was incredibly brave. He only delved into hedonism because the spiritual damage he suffered caused him to go physically numb. He also showed chivalry by choosing not to crash Hei-Ran's wedding to tell her how he felt. Kuruk did have a lot of personal faults, but I think his sense of self-sacrifice should really be taken into consideration. But that's my opinion.

I see the argument for Gryffindor, but Korea has been a Slytherin for me since day one. She knows she’s the avatar, and makes it her life ambition to become it. She can be quite resourceful, and is such a leader to me. Though we don’t see it all that much, I feel her intelligence can be seen in a more Slytherin manner compared to Aang’s Ravenclaw. Amon is practically Voldemort. Both were one thing yet they led factions that consisted entirely of people who hated said thing. Amon was a bender leading nonbenders with anti-bending sentiments and Voldemort was a half-muggle leading pure blood elitists and wizards with anti-muggle sentiments.

I think Katara is either a Gryffindor or a Slytherin. Her personality is extremely fiery and “girl boss,” much like Ginny Weasley, and she is shown throughout the series to be very willing to break rules and do anything to achieve her goals, for example stealing the water bending scroll and using blood bending to save her friends.

I agree with all except Aang. I think he would be Hufflepuff due to his kindness and principles. While he does have many requirements for Ravenclaw, he also had traits which could belong to even Gryffindor. Given he has a foot in at least three of the houses I think he would fit well in Hufflepuff as they would never turn down anyone.

Zuko and Iroh would be in Slytherin! Zuko valued ambition and status and often allied himself with people he thought would help him succeed! Iroh had a similar arc to Severus Snape with the exception that Iroh actually became a decent person whom it was a pleasure to be around. Instead of losing his closest friend like Snape he lost his son, then he realized his ambitions were not the most important thing.

There's no doubt that Katara shows a lot of Hufflepuff traits, but I think she would do great in Gryffindor too! She had the nerve to stand up to Pakku at the northern water tribe. She also stood against Hama even though she knew Hama was stronger, which shows nerve and daring. She also respects everybody and isn't selfish which shows chivalry. Katara was also brave enough to leave behind her home to help Aang.

Avatar characters are so complex and layered that they can fit into multiple houses : Aang can be Ravenclaw or Hufflepuff he's intelligent , curious and creative but also kind , patient ,loyal and fair he does the right thing out of inner goodness Katara Gryffindor/Hufflepuff , yes she's loyal , kind and hard working but she's also very daring , brave , passionate ,inspirational and at times reckless , i could even make a case for her being a Slytherin , she's resourceful and a bit vengeful but it's a bit of a stretch Toph Ravenclaw/Gryffindor , she's smart , creative and witty but also a show off so ... Sokka Ravenclaw/Slytherin he's curious , creative , intelligent and witty but he's a leader , resourceful , cunning , ambitious and sometimes self preserving , he cares mostly about friends and family, he always contradicts katara when she wants to help strangers in need wether it's aang or fire nation people or earth bending prisoners Asami Slytherin/ Hufflepuff/Ravenclaw , she's ambitious , a leader , resourceful but also intelligent , knowledgeable , creative , loyal , patient Iroh Ravenclaw /Hufflepuff , he's intelligent , knowledgeable , witty , kind , loyal , patient Korra though is definitely a Gryffindor , brave and daring , a Total show off , reckless , emotional but chivalrous she has a good moral compass and she grows into a compassionate person

I think Zuko is a great example of a good slytherin, as he literally embodies ambition throughout all of his life setting out to chase and complete his true goals at all time and at all costs. His cunning shows when he for example dresses up as the blue spirit to steal aang. As a slytherin should be, he is prideful and likes to handle his problems on his own. Zuko was misguided but in the end he comes to his true senses which also closely links with slytherin as the snake is a symbol for rebirth. I like your idea of him being a hufflepuff but I myself think he fits nicely as a good slytherin where the good qualities of slytherin shine through.

Although I understand why your put Iroh in Gryffindor, I think it's also possible that he could've been in Ravenclaw as he's one of the wisest characters in the original series, he is extremely creative with his bending as he learned how to breath fire and redirect lightning, he seems to crave wisdom and knowledge as show thru his teaching Zuko the history of each of the different nations. He even says "It's important to draw wisdom from many different sources" he even uses the knowledge of the water tribe to create an entirely new bending technique in lightning redirection

I think katara should be a griffindor, more than Korra I think, katara wasn't really afraid of much, she stood up to all sorts of characters, like the boiling rock hello? Zuko multiple times, but chivalry, like in the crystal mines with zuko, they're still enemies but the fact that she even considered using the healing water on his scar.
