Man, Splattercat has been responsible for a lot of games I've been playing recently! I grew up in the 90's so I have played so many side scrollers. I thought I'd never play another.... until I saw his video on Infernax, now I'm hooked again. I can't believe it's '22 and I'm playing side-scrollers again! XD This game looks badass too, it just got wishlisted! Thanks for the videos my man!

I know how you feel bud. I grew up playing games like Mario and Donkey Kong Country on the NES and SNES. I'm glad people are bringing these types of games back. They are too fun of a genre to just let die.

Thanks Splat for showing the control settings. As a disabled gamer, I find so many 1st impressions/reviews never show this and I end up buying a game I can't physically play. Always appreciate you taking the time to show and talk about the controls.

Now that the game has been released on Steam, having picked it up and played for about 5 hours or so, I thought I'd let people know about it. This is the best MV I've played on PC since Lost Ruins! Well worth buying. It looks to be HUGE. Awesome combat, exploration, and interesting RPG elements. The devs put a lot of hard work and love into this game. A+!!!

Great game and great commentary on it. I'm hoping to one day make my own games (I'm finishing my Computer Science degree in a few months) and watching your commentaries on Indie Games is definitely showing me the DOs and DONTs of game design. I find these videos immensely valuable as you often point out things I wouldn't have noticed myself. Thank you

I usually feel this way about the ole Splattercat until I realize that Splatty only realized there was a heavy attack button for the five seconds the game showed him it was there. Later, he's complaining about not being able to attack vertically from the ground, but never uses the heavy attack.

I'd like to better understand the psychology behind Splatty's absolute refusal to read dialog as written. There must be something deep behind it in his Splatty brain.
@GODSPEEDseven2 жыл бұрын
Splatty has quick wits about him. To read something live and replace a few words with one of his own means he's a VERY good reader and he doesn't stumble with his vocabulary. He's extremely comfortable and relaxed doing what he does, which makes watching his videos an absolute joy!

The art and animation is just so colorfully glorious! I don't play as many side scrollers as I did back in the day. (I think Symphony of the Night ruined me. Nothing else seemed as good. LOL) From time to time, a side scroller will surprise me, but I'm always a bit wary of them. Anyway, this? This I am looking forward to.

Not much of a fan of the metroidvania games outside of the classics, but this one oozes uniqueness where others often try to copy the old ones and just HD/remaster to modern times. The soundtrack, artstyle and the monsters remind me so heavily of the old Atelier games like Iris: Grand Phantasm. Might give it a try.

Being a casual watcher of SplatterCat's videos from Hungary I nearly dropped my phone when he suddenly dropped the hit sound "KÖCSÖG" at around 16:30 - with a rather acceptable hungarian accent. While the word itself is present in our language and it actually might be used in a similar context (i.e. during fights to taunt the opponent). Alas, I'd rather not explain its actual meaning here...
