If I owned a time machine, it is Wanda's era on ST that I would be traveling to. There is just something so magical about 1971-1975. The music, the clothes, the hair styles, and of course, the confidence to be a pioneer in sometime so historic. Wanda is royalty to me.

The music is not the same any more it's not danceable music it's foolish rap. I work at a dance studio they are just learning dances from the 90's in Chicago. There's been a trend of all style dance competitions so these kids want to battle . But I do think internationally their dancing more because American dancers are teaching there -Locking, house, hip-hop, wacking, vogueing, some party dances. Then when there's competition always foreigners win because they love American black culture n they're disciplined!! I'm always proud when I see black kids get down because it is our legacy. I grew up up the hill from Mavericks Flat( Overhiil n Slauson) Crenshaw district, Baldwin Hills, Windsor hills, Inglewood, South Central was our stomping ground. We even painted the Crenshaw wall up 2001-20024 I did a Locking character on the wall!!😁😁😁👍🔥🙏🎶🎶🎶

I’m loving this series. I was the HUGEST Soul Train fanatic as a kid. Living in DC where I moved with my single mother from the West Coast. I was going to a newly integrated school and learned all about Black life as a little kid. Soul Train was MAGIC for me. I loved the music and finally got an idea of these kids I went to school with. It was all over after that. We did dance contests and talent shows where I was the only white kid. But I loved every second of it and watching these profiles brings it all back. I can’t stop crying happy tears remembering this sweet period in my life. It was hard actually, but Soul Train and the music and dancers. I lived for it. 😊
