Just spoke with tecnical help soundstream , they say theres a error on the cables . The cable for the metra kit for SWC is the IR cable . Thats why people are having trouble . They should program as if it was kenwood on the auto search for the SWC on the 300c

I have a '08 jgc wk, my dashboard has a short 1/2inch lip/hangover over the head unit space, would I have to worry about that top screen if it can't fold all the way back?

Ok so my OEM deck is shot it goes black and starts to flicker, I would like to replace it with an aftermarket head unit, but I am confused as that what all I need to install the aftermarket deck. I do have steering wheel controls and the hands free phone I would like to keep. It's a 2014 Jeep wrangler with the Sirius flat screen deck. Any help would be great thanks.

I honestly didn't run this head unit for very long after the video. I took that Jeep through some conditions that wouldn't be favorable for the head unit, so I took it out. I still have it in a box somewhere. Sorry I couldn't answer your question, but thanks for watching!

It does have the safety, but it's the old "non-technical" type. All you have to do is wire the "safety" wire to a ground and the video function will work at all times, but always remember to be responsible when watching videos! Thanks for watching!

It's a pretty cool unit, I don't think you would be able to keep your voice controls though. I know it has steering wheel controls, but nothing that I know of for voice commands. Thanks for watching!

Rocky X TV best buy thinks id be able to keep them but if you think about it... I mean the voice commands uses the software with the factory radio right? What would that button be useful for without voice commands?

You are correct, the voice command software is in the radio, I'm pretty sure. As for the button... most likely it would become useless or you could possibly assign it to do something else. That part depends on how well the new radio and SWC module communicate. I set mine up with just tracking + & - and volume + & -

I would still recommend it. Soundstream has resealed some updates that you can download to an SD card and put it in the radio to update the software, I thought that was cool. Thanks for watching!

Hey rocky would this fit a bmw 335i without idrive the stereo is like half an inch deep under the climate vents i am curious to know how far out the unit is and how far from the double din adapter thr top screen is i dont want to buy the product and then find my top screen not openning because it hits the air vents! Please help

Sorry I can't say if it will fit or not for sure, but I can say that it does sit out a little further than normal DD units. The screens are also adjustable, you can set the angle to one of three or four different preset angles. I can also say that the air (hot or cold) from the vents don't seem to bother the screen at all. Again, sorry I couldn't give you a yes or no answer on the fitment.

I did not test this unit with cameras as of yet. The other Soundstream unit I installed (VRN-75HB) in project Renegade works with cameras. Sorry I couldn't answer your question, thanks for watching though!

This could be different for different years of the wrangler due to the different stereo systems, but in my case I have the NON NAV, NON Amplified system. I think it's called the Uconnect 730, NOT the 730N or 730 with Alpine system. If your's is the same as mine it should be the Pink wire from the Axxess module to Pin #13 on your radio harness and the Blue/w Pink stripe from the Axxess module to Pin #2 on your radio harness. I hope that is the info you are looking for, if you need more help you can go over to the Axxess website and get vehicle specific wiring diagrams that have pictures of all the wiring. What radio do you have? Most aftermarket radios use a brown and a brown/w white stripe for swc. Some also just have a plug, it looks like a headphone jack.

Hey Rocky! I have a jk 2012. This video inspired me in purchasing this unit. Do you suggest it? I'm quite skeptical about the motor of the dual screens not working also the quality of the sound. I'm just debating in getting this or Seicane Tablet 10.2 inch.

I've been running another Soundstream for around 2 years now and haven't had any issues with the motors (VRN-75HB). I've been contacted by Seicane multiple times. They want me to do a review and install of their product, but they want me to pay over $90.00 in shipping, and they want final say in the editing of the video. I can't say one is better than the other, sorry I couldn't give you more info.

As for plug and play you would have to go to somewhere like Crutchfield.com and inter your info. They can tell you what adapter/interface you'll need, most likely it will be a PAC brand interface.

I think the SQ is really good, but you have to remember I'm running 2 sets of component speakers and using 2 amps and 2 subs. I can't really speak for the SQ with the head unit by itself as I've always installed them with new speakers and amps all at the same time.

Just a regular USB cable is fine. I had the same issue, here's what you have to do. Go into SETTINGS on your phone, find the ABOUT DEVICE section. Find the BUILD NUMBER and tap on it 7 times, your phone will then say DEVELOPER MODE ON. You will then have a bunch of new DEVELOPER options in your phones settings, one will be ALLOW USB DEBUGGING, DEBUG USB or something along those lines. Try the phone connect again and it should pop up with a QR/Barcode you can scan, that will take you to a website that has the app you need, the app isn't available on the google app store for some reason. It looks kind of bulky and crappy until you open the dual screen, then it's like, "holy crap that's awesome!" Are the Nav and Google Maps separate, or is Google Maps the nav system? How do you like everything else on it so far? (nice edit by the way)

It has its own Nav built in, but you can use Google Maps, MapQuest or any other app that works on your phone because of the phone link feature. So far I like a lot of the features, I'm still getting familiar with some stuff, it has a lot of stuff to mess with. I do agree that it looks bulky when closed. You do have to buy an install kit (harness and mounting brackets) You can change the screens around, but you are limited to what each screen can do, only some features can be used on the top and some on bottom, but some can go either place. Thanks for watching!

It is pretty nice. My only issue is that Jeep puts their radio up really high on the dash, this makes the top screen of this unit sit up pretty high. No higher than a stick-on GPS I guess, so it's not really that bad. It is a really cool unit though, thanks for checking out the video Chad!
