Ingredients
180 gr. butter
200 gr. sugar
4 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
2/3 cup buttermilk
300 gr. flour
2 ½ tsp. baking powder
Instructions
-Preheat oven to 170°C (340°F).
-Pit the sour cherries and set aside.
-Sift together the flour and baking powder.
-Grease and flour the sides and bottom of a 20x30 cm baking pan, then place it in the refrigerator.
-Cream the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
-Add the eggs one at a time, beating each for 30 seconds. Add the vanilla with the first egg.
-Add the buttermilk and mix well.
-Gradually fold in the flour mixture in two or three additions using a spatula.
-Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan.
-Bake in the preheated oven for 35-40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
