Quick and Easy Cherry Clafoutis - Made In a Blender!

I just made 3 of these yesterday for a party. 2 cherry and 1 with blueberries. I couldn’t find fresh tart cherries here in Michigan in the winter. I found them in the frozen section. I used one 12 oz pkg of pitted cherries for each clafoutis. I soaked them for half an hour in 1 tablespoon crème de cocoa liqueur, 1 tablespoon rum and 1 tablespoon sugar. I put all of that in the bottom of a 9” deep pie dish, making a single layer of cherries. Everything else was according to your recipe directions (except I used half heavy cream and half milk instead of all milk) using the vanilla also. It fit perfectly with no overflow. No alcohol in the blueberry one. But Used, lemon zest and 2 teaspoons of the juice and vanilla. Served them both with whipped cream. What a delight and so easy to make.

You presented a great video for a classic French dessert. I’ve been married to a 🇫🇷 guy for many years. You’re right, traditionally, cherries (sour cherries!) are used with the pits in because the cherry stones do impart a lot of flavor. I’ve been making it that way for years. You simply discreetly spit the pit out. A lot of people in 🇫🇷 use heavy cream instead of whole milk. We were in Paris a few weeks ago & were invited to dinner by friends. The wife made cherry Clafoutis with pitted non-sour cherries! Scandalous! 😀 I’d never seen that before.

I made this recipe, TWICE, and I LOVE how easy it is!!!. The first time, I made it, was right after I saw your video and it came out soupy, a bit. But, I was able to eat the whole dish. The second time, that I made it, was yesterday and it came out PERFECT, the way that you made it.
