To think, the only reason she was part of the Hunger Games was to protect her sister. In the end, it meant nothing because her sister was a Casualty of War. Shit would eat me alive if the love one I risked my life for ends up dying at the end of it all.

so happy to see you enjoy the movies! the only thing i dislike about the two last movies is how they downplayed the signs of Coin's true intentions. in the books we find part of Katniss's prep team chained to a wall, hurt, and soaked in their own pee, all because they tried to get some extra food (or something similar). throughout the book you can see how Coin tries to control Katniss but fails (for example, sending out Peeta as punishment for Katniss leaving for the capitol and to get her death captured on tape), which is the biggest reason why I believe she sent Prim with the medics. without Prim, Katniss gave up. also, there never was a love triangle. that was something the movies put emphasis on to make a bigger reaction amongst a widespread audience. in the books, Katniss only focused on Prim - although you could tell there was feelings with Peeta, she pushed them down. Gale was never truly an option. like she said in Mockingjay p1 - she had only room for fear, and Gale couldn't give her space. also, Gale represents war and anger, and all Katniss wanted was peace and rest - which is what Peeta represents. there was never a triangle. ps - those mutts were supposed to be in the first movie instead of the dogs, but with the eyes of the dead tributes... creepy and insane.

They should have also mentioned a thought Katniss has, which is actually her main piece of evidence: Prim was too young to be a medic in the field and thus would have required special permission. Aka Coin's. My main issue with the movies is how they play up both Haymitch and Plutarch. In the first movie, it's not the Gamemakers making choices. It's the Gamemakers making choices bc Haymitch manipulated them (in the books, the Gamemakers love a show, that's all they were doing - they weren't trying to kill her with the fire or by leading her anywhere). When Katniss fires the arrow at the Gamemakers, he loves it (in the books, he scolds her just as much). Then in Catching Fire, we totally skip the part about him being 100% unable to go back into the arena physically. In Mockingjay, he's back to being witty, smart and funny, when in the book he's barely holding it together for a long time. Similarly with Plutarch. In the movie, he's the grand architect of the 75th Hunger Games.... but why exactly? He manipulates Snow into being more violent and then into everything else that he does in that movie. Why? Makes no sense. The book actually makes a point about him NOT knowing that Katniss was going to go back to the arena. But for some reason, Catching Fire (the movie) insists on showing Plutarch as being above everything. Same happens in the Mockingjay movies. He knows everything. He's smarter than everyone. He predicted everything. That's not exactly how it is in the books. He has flaws in the books and is opportunistic.

You kinda hinted at it; but that is the key difference between Snow and Coin; evil as he is, Snow genuinely agrees with peoples right to free will. Every time Snow does something shady, it's always clear that he would rather people come over to his side of their own accord before he does anything dramatic, whereas Coin shows herself as someone very willing to backstab and force her will upon anyone without question. Coin hates Katniss because she's someone she can't control; whereas Snow actually respects about her even she's a threat to him.

On the other hand - Snow even with everything in the prequel, still came from the privilege. He had always chance to be better and end the games. Be the man Tigris wanted him to be. Coin on the other hand was a good leader for years. It was only the pandemic and death of her family that broke her apart and made her focused on revenge.

The children at the end were the main actress's nephiews and they hanged around in the set a long time. Basically they were just hanging around while they filmed it. That little boy's hug was genuine.

Tbh I hated mockingjay. Both the movie and book. How is it that we are building up this big war and eventual “march to the capitol” yet were stuck filming propos that end up being pointless? We didn’t even get a proper ending for so many characters like did katniss ever see gale, her mom, Johanna again or even have a conversation with Enobaria and asked her how she lived but the other career victors didn’t? But great reaction nonetheless 😂

I mean the story is about Katniss. We don't need a backstory about every single character or person Katniss may have reconnected with after the revolution. Also, it's pretty clear she cut connections with Gale completely and she was never super close to her mom to begin with

They literally ended the hunger games and killed Snow which was the whole point of the revolution. Meaning their death wasn’t in vain. Why would Katniss go to district 2 instead of going home to 12. Katniss is 17 and never wanted to be a leader or anything like that so it makes sense that she went back home to 12. Katniss wanted peace. Baylor became in charge and that was a win for everyone because she was a peaceful leader that everyone liked

@@Dark-Wolf27 Of course Katniss wasn’t leading the march to the Capital. She wasn’t supposed to even be with the troops in the first place. A big point of both Mockingjay movies is that Katniss is in fact NOT a leader. She is the symbol of the revolution but she is simply just a pawn in the revolution. Not a leader or someone who gives orders. Even Boggs said the only thing Katniss could do to add more fire to the rebellion was die, which is kind of what Coin wanted. Again proving that Katniss is just a pawn for Coin like she was for the Capital. Also, their deaths were not in vain because they won the war in the end. I’m not sure you really understand the movie in general
