Spot on Dr. Mpofu-Welsh. Personally I thiat the ANC is very lucky. It was suppose to struggle very hard these last three years. The victory of AmaBokoboko, became cover against our rating, and Covid prevented the outcrsy when we were thrown into a junk status. So the ANC is given another life line, but I do not see it embracing it, as you have stated the factional battles looming. Thanks again for your channel.👊🏿👊🏿👊🏿

If the elections go ahead and Political parties can't campagn as they're used to then what will have a big impact is what the 1.IEC does when it comes to voter education, 2.how the mainstream media chooses to assist pilitical parties get their word across and 3.what the SABC does with its wide reach. It doesn't seem like the three i have mentioned have any pragmatic plans for this particular situation we find ourselves in.

I really enjoy you content, I did notice a few things though. When you discussed the political parties, you spoke about corruption and the faction battle in the ANC, you spoke about firing Maimane and not using race as a proxy for disadvantage in the DA, but when it comes to the EFF you don't discuss such things. In a lot of your videos that I have watched it feels like you are more critical when interviewing DA members and less critical when interviewing ANC members and especially less critical when interviewing members of the EFF. When discussing that the EFF wants to govern a municipality, maybe mention their wishlist manifestos that might be a problem if they actually got elected. Maybe mention how they have become increasingly fascist or how mum they were on the virus and how to deal with the pandemic. There were so many things you could have mentioned that are relevant. Otherwise, a good video with a systematic and sober approach to understanding the important aspects of the election.

I’ve actually interviewed more DA leaders on this channel than any other party. I also don’t accept idea of EFF “fascism” or that they were “mum on the virus”. I think many narratives surrounding the EFF are hysterical. At the same time, it’s impossible for any single analyst to escape bias, so watch my content against other sources and make up your own mind. See you on the next videos.

@@xthewixard "Fascism" has a very specific meaning and it's not close to what the EFF represents. "Authoritarianism" is also inaccurate, for me. In general, I think analysis of the EFF is very weak in SA at the moment. The EFF needs criticism, like all parties, but the hysterical analogies don't serve anyone. Maybe I should do a vid on this at some point.

@@_SMWX what I mean when I say they have become increasingly fascist is the following observations: 1) they trust their own para-military capacities (although highly unorganised) more than they do law enforcement agencies of the state as evident from their protest in Senekal where they said they would defend government property because the police failed to do so, they also have a War Council and the Preamble to their constitution states that they are "radical and militant"; 2) their silencing of dissenting opinions as evidenced by Sections 6(3)(a)(i) of the EFF constitution and the actions taken against Clicks and at Brackenfell last year where force instead of dialog was the order of the day; 3) their willingness to subvert democracy as evidenced by Section 4(1) of the EFF constitution; 4) The hierarchical structure of the organisation as evidenced by Section 6(3)(a)(ii) of their constitution; and 5) the nationalist tendencies of the EFF as evidenced by their rhetoric that all white people who own land in South Africa stole that land and that only black people can rightfully own land in South Africa. If you have more information that is applicable to this classification that might better inform my opinion on the matter, I would be happy to hear it. My opinion is based on the evidence at my disposal, which is obviously limited.

The length is legit. I am very wary about the elections and Covid. The ANC stands to benefit if the election if the virus is a deterrent to some voters to go out and vote. The voter turn out in the recent bi-elections is very worrying. But then again generally our people are not rebelling against the ANC by voting for another party but rather they have lost hope in the entire electoral process.
