SOUTH CONISTON FELLS - SELSIDE, HIGH/LOW LIGHT, BROCK, WOOL KNOTT, TOTTLE, BLAWITH, YEW BANK, BEACON

This route begins in a free layby just north of Water Yeat.
From here you walk back south into the village and can choose to do either East or West side..
The Eastern block is more gradual and shorter walk however the West offers more in terms of features and views including Beacon Tarn as a rest stop.

Thanks for the shout out Dave , these OL fells were some of my favourites, just love Beacon Tarn. Yeah alot of the OL fells are tricky and off piste. No paths, cows , fences , 1 has barbed wire haha ..1 is definitely off limits, the farmer has approached the Wainwright society to say no walkers ...you might be able to stealth climb it at night maybe 😂

Nee bother lass.. aye Dave told me about the off limits one but apparently if you go ask the farmer he will let ya aslong as you dont have tattoos on ya face and carrying a bag of firewood etc.. if not al tek him a little gift box with some of ma cider in.. 🙂

Well done Dave, that was a long hard walk in the heat. We were due to do Top O' Selside tomorrow, but because the weather was good we did it on Friday, day before you. Enjoyed watching your video, very informative. Had to laugh when you realised you didn't have your hat on and you ran back for it 🤣 Mary 🙂

Cheers, i feel bad for making long videos but there's not many on these outlying fells and there is quite a lot to know about them so yea.. definitely the east side was a more pleasant walking experience..

We only did these fells last week, although we split these into two walks and like you we had great weather. If you watch our latest vid on these tops you'll notice we ascended these fells in reverse to you. Enjoying watching you videos.
