Do you have any tips to stop bugs from entering the box used to store red chili? I always find bugs in them after a week no matter how tight the box seal is :( I dry them in the sun still get bugs.

@@shanthivenkat5811 You musn't do that. Spices release their properties once roasted. It's why freshly roasted spices contain most nutrients. Roasting and then storing them to use later makes them lose nutrients. Only sun drying works. Either I have a bad batch of store bought chili or I did not sun dry them well. None of my other spices, be it powders or spices in solid form like turmeric, jeera, peppers have insects. Only Chili. I can't turn it into powder cause I need chili in solid form for tempering.

I’ve got to ask. What is a whistle with a pressure cooker? My cooker comes to pressure and I turn it down just until it maintains pressure, then cook the appropriate time in minutes. What is the whistle?

you are right. That is the way to cook. In India the pressure cooker weight gives out a sound when it comes to pressure , so we adjust our recipes by number of sounds or "whistles" it emits depending on the recipe whether we want it fluffy or mushy!
