That is why I put state registration numbers on my canoes and record the canoes' serial numbers therein. The numbers are not required on canoes in WI, but they cost little and can be a deterrent against thievery.

Hey Dave! I gotta question. Have you ever thought to make videos of scenic drives that you and Carrie go on? I have seen where some people just have a dash cam and music to showcase some of the scenery in route to the places they are headed. Little to no narratives. The scenery is nice, peaceful and relaxing. Other viewers really seem to like those kinds of videos. Just throwing an idea your way so you can make some more easy video content. You two have really done an absolutely amazing job with your videos since you hit the road again. Regardless of a van repair or a really nice place you visited, you make really good content. Also, if you have any culinary skills or "road recipes" that are interesting, people might enjoy learning how to cook and plan your meals with such minimal provisions. @@oneadVANtureatatime Hi Dave. My van Mac got new shoes (tires) today. I told you that I would update you as to what I got. The Falken AT3's are not available for the rim of a 2018 Ford Transit 250. I ended up buying Cooper Discover HT3's. They are a VERY MEATY tire. They have very good online reviews. 2 new tires were $429 for the whole shabang. Many people were really pleased with how they handle and perform for a heavy truck tire. It has been a new learning curve for me in terms of the demand put on big truck/van tires. Before we left oregon 3 years ago south lake was a favorite spot to spend time. And yes in oregon anything not chained up will walk away... Its one of the reasons we left oregon.

I highly recommend Paddle North Karva inflatable kayak. Packs up small to put inside the van. I bought the 12 volt pump also but the manual pump that comes with it works great also.

Please do a video on van security. I’ve seen where you use eye hooks and metal plates to lock back doors and driver/passenger, then a padlock on the outside rail of slider. Nothing will stop breaking glass though, but difficult to steal stuff through the windows.

Bummer about losing the kayak. Been up there a few times. I have a few canoes/kayaks, and I always bring them back to the campsite when I am not using them. I just don't trust leaving things laying around out of sight. Looks like you learned that lesson, hope it's not too painful.

Hi! Wow, that South Lake Road and campground are so pretty! So green, I love the moss on the trees. What a peaceful lake. Your drone footage of it was so cool, great views up above the lake! Those kinds of lakes are fun to kayak in, personally I wouldn't want to fall in, lol. The underwater shots of the fish were wonderful. Great job. I can understand why the fish love that lake. That whole area seems so magical. That trail to the water fall, super inviting....I love those kinds of trails. I bet it smelled wonderdu l also. Not sure why but I always have to test out the waterfalls with my head.😂 We once backpacked way up in the mountains and found a waterfall that was the perfect shower. The water slowly ran down a granite face getting warmed by the sun then dropped in a nice 8 footfalls. We hope to eventually get an inflatable paddle board. We have been working on our van security! One thing we just added was a kill switch. When we are not present the van will not start. You will need to have some one who is good with electrical wire this in. We are researching lock for the doors.

It’s sad we beat ourselves up when someone steals something from us. It’s not like someone would accidentally leave a kayak behind. On my spring break trip, I left two lawn chairs at our site and took the RV up to the office to make sure my online check in worked. Someone stole the lawn chairs. And as far as I know we were the only campers there. Ugh.

Thank you! We have finally replaced Carries Kayak with another. We have spent most of our winters in Arizona now. The Quartzsite and Parker area are good. Ajo Arizona might be my favorite. Padre Island in Texas are pretty darn awesome as well. Yes, we are the 159 wheelbase but not the extended one. 😀

+James Giel we just strapped it to the top decking. We bought a very inexpensive one that only weighed 40 pounds so between the two of us it was really easy to get it up. One person lifted it from the bottom and one pulled from the top.

I have no use for thieves, KARMA will pay them a visit. water falls of any kind are beautiful, . The PNW looks amazing. Van security is a big concern for me. A starter disconnect is always the first modification when I build a jeep and now the van will have one. I am incorporating a 48" steel truck under box as part of my cabinetry. A good place to store cameras, laptops and self defense items 😉. Always a thumbs up 👍

Welcome and THANK YOU!!! Dave is the drone pilot 👨‍✈️ he uses a DJI MAVIC Air. We have been using it for 18 months and Dave has logged some serious flight time..... last we looked he has over 130 hours of flight time. It has been a great little drone... we are just starting to have a few minor problems but we can’t complain much due to how much we have used it!!!

Too bad about your kayak. You should try to get away from people when you want to keep your stuff out all night. When you camp in places like that you run the risk of having the bad people about. We camp far off the grid where people are few and far between.

We usually camp pretty far off grid as well! and this lake is in the middle of nowhere....still we usually ALWAYS KEEP things locked up....but ......just got lazy this time and it bit me in the arse!!! It wont happen again.... I miss my cheap kayak!!

I work loss prevention for retail. The reason I do is that I cannot stand a thief. Karma will get them. They always do. U do have to watch giving people opportunities. They are people waiting on honest people. Watch it more now because police aren't even doing police reports. I got a thief for a few thousand dollars and had to file it online because police will not deal with people due to COVID.
