Sometimes a one nighter camping trip is all you need to reset. Kim and I took off to Deschutes national forest for some light overlanding and exploring in search of a campsite along the Metolious River, but ran into a gated road which forced us to look along the vast network of forest roads in the area. Our friend Shi from Out & Back Oregon shared a lovely spot with us (go check out his channel!), so we found it open and had a wonderful and relaxing night with beautiful views of the surrounding mountains and cliffs.

Great vid! Just returned from a week with my wife in Central and N Central Oregon. We camp in our built-out 4x4 Suburban, complete with solar and a microwave. Been in OR 22 years. Raised free-range in Ouachita Parish! Subbed.

We love it, if you can find a decently priced, well taken care of one it is very worth it. Only thing I would consider upgrading to is a 200 series, but those are…very expensive

@@MattCookOregon they most definitely are. I’ve seen some good, fair priced cruisers come up recently. Check out the Toyota Land Cruiser marketplace on Facebook, a few gems that pop up from time to time. Good luck on your search! Also just realized I’ve seen a few of your videos. Great stuff!

That's a bit of a drive for a one nighter! Pro tip for eggs; break them into a Nalgene (an egg-gene if you will) before you leave.

Sometimes you gotta drive to find some sunshine! And we’ve definitely considered that, though I’ve read that the eggs can go bad quite a bit quicker. Might have to do it for these one nighters though!

@@ScaleofTwo I confess to having made good use of the REI Pinot glass myself on many occasions but nowadays I am more likely to be using the Stanley whiskey tumbler (aka adventure shot glasses)! I have found it much easier to take a bottle of whiskey for the trip than multiple bottles of vino.

😂 maybe one day… Oh man, it’s incredible. I’m bummed we didn’t buy it sooner. It definitely burns wood a bit quicker because of the airflow from the underside, but it’s great being able to put your feet under it and keep ‘em toasty.

Do you air down ? Or do you just drive in most roads with average tire pressure ? I ask cause I never see you air down and I’m curious (new to off-roading )

We do sometimes! If we’re only going to be on dirt for a few miles, it’s just usually not worth the hassle. If it’s anything over 3 miles on dirt and I know we’ll be getting into some rougher road, I definitely air down. 🤙🏼
