I mean from what i’ve read, they just didn’t want to take on an extra restaurant restoration project at the time of when this episode came out, because they had their hands full with the Casa Bonita reopening. But yeah they could totally restore it, it’s not like they don’t have the money. And I’m pretty sure they have the time, too, while South Park is on hiatus (and it’s not like they’re working on it right now anyway, since it’s always made the same week), and since their Broadway show seems to be doing just fine in New York without them. And it seems like Casa Bonita is doing fine as well. So why not?

Never ever vouch for someone for a job. No matter how unkind it may seem, you should always let the person go through the process like everyone else and let the company/hiring manager make the call without any influence from you. Even if the person is your best friend, you should not do it because you don't know what can happen when they do get a job. I have seen some extremely incompetent people be inducted on a recommendation and the person hanging their head in shame for recommending them. It's a massive blow to reputation and reliability. The best action to take is to inform your "friend" that you can only help with having the application be seen by the right person. Set expectations that after that, it's up to the company.

My first job was when I was in college. First 2 years of college, I didn't have to work and dedicated all my time to studying and playing football. But starting with my junior year, dad and mom cut me off from having spending money allowances. So, I had to get a part time job and fit it in between studying, working out and football practices/games. The local Sears at the Mall near campus was having a job fair. So, I went down and applied (a bunch of my classmates did the same.) I remember the interview process was like an assembly line (one person after the next,) followed by having to fill out an assessment questionnaire and test so they could place you in an appropriate position. Since I got straight A's in school and college, I thought for sure I would get placed into one of the better jobs (a sales job on the floor or, at worst, a cashier's job.) Well, I got placed in the stock room unloading trucks and stocking shelves. That puzzled the hell out of me because some of my friends who also applied were not academic wiz kids and they got placed in the sought after jobs. Still bugs me to this day how I got placed in the stock room. The only thing I can think of why is because I was big and strong and played on the football team. So, they probably thought they needed my muscle in the stock room and on the docks without even considering my academic credentials.

No joke I've had to deal with the kind of coworkers Cartman is parodying, in that they take any criticism as a personal attack and will take any opportunity to offload work. Their trick was to make friends with the boss and early on establish the idea that I kept "bullying" them to prevent any of my later complaints being taken seriously. I got lucky, in that I could transfer departments and left them holding the bag on multiple projects they knew fuck all about but had been claiming majority credit for months.😆

From what I understand, child celebrities have a manager who manages their finances, contracts, etc. So a studio doesn’t technically “hire” a child actor so much as the manager “loans out” the actor. Someone who knows more please tell me or correct me

Of the newer episodes, this one made me laugh the most at the end! You've probably missed out a tiny bit with Eric whining about living in a hot dog for a long time!

5:17 Unfortunately my job doesn’t offer “mental health days” but I’m pretty sure people still take them either by using their vacation time or pretending to be sick.

For the job question: labor laws vary by state, and then might have clauses related to types of jobs (e.g., kids can do x hours per week of an acting job, no one under 21 can serve alcohol, etc.). My first job was at 14 (food booth at our local Renaissance Faire), because our state allows teens 14 and up to work part-time, just not full-time.
