To be fair they only agreed because girls and Craig's parents were pushing it on them, they technically could still just be pretending and just be REALLY good at mimicking a couple. I had something similar happen to me, but I don't date girls just because people think I should anymore, social pressures can get to you as a teenager.

A lot of great shows in the late 90s, early 2000s. Gay men and women were either one of many main characters. 6 feet under. Or side characters. Bones, rescue me, house. I'm only 21 but I noticed that it became way less tolerated to be homophobic in the 2000s.

I remember in a commentary they said they based Tweek's anxiety attacks off their wives, which is super cute and I would bet that's why their relationship is so well written, because they use positive real life experiences they have with their partners. I think the joke may be the most healthy couple in town is some 11 year olds who were told to be together instead of wanting to be together.

I hate how « woke » became a pejorative term used by right wingers, when its historic definition has a real meaning other than for rant.
@onlyanuli3 ай бұрын
it’s honestly my biggest pet peeve on the internet.
@funkyfranx2 ай бұрын
Well, I don’t know about any ‘historic’ definitions - the word sounds pretty modern to me given intentional grammatical errors are ‘trendy’ with youngsters - but it’s not surprising at all the term has become an insult, for the same reason ‘SJW’ did. A group of people unironically referring to themselves as ‘warriors’ and ‘woke/awake’ (the sheer arrogance of implying everyone else is ‘asleep’, not least because self-proclaimed ‘woke’ people generally have the most black-and-white, reductionist, ignorant views on complex topics), but who do nothing but performative activism absolutely deserve to be ridiculed. As a left-wing person, I’d say this fundamentally has little to do with right-wingers, they brought it on themselves.
@onlyanuli2 ай бұрын
@@funkyfranx it takes a two minute google search to find out black people started using the term woke in the 40s. the opposite of being woke isn’t being asleep it’s being unaware of social injustices. this is why aave needs to stay within its community
